Capital Job – Nirvana’s London Porter returns

London PorterFollowing its recent £750,000.00 fundraise, Nirvana Brewery has brought back one of its most successful limited-edition brews, a London Porter.

Last seen in 2021, the porter and Nirvana’s six-strong core range are now widely available via the brewery’s significantly expanded network of national cash and carries and wholesalers.

Enjoying its most successful year, the fundraise adding to its sales and marketing ‘war-chest’ and with the category in rude health, the UK’s first-ever no/low brewery is confident of greater success.

Nirvana is also predicting further growth in the category courtesy of the strong and sustained trend of no/low ‘mixing’ – beer drinkers varying their rounds between full-strength and no/low beers. It further believes that by having a range of no/low beers, it can be the perfect, one-stop, brewery for retailers.

The London Porter celebrates the brewery’s roots in the capital (it’s been based in Leyton since 2016). The rich, dark, beer features multiple roasted malt varieties and the classic British hop variety, ‘Fuggles’. With notes of caramel, coffee and a touch of chocolate, Nirvana describes it as warming, complex and indulgent. 0.5% ABV. RRP £2.50/330ml bottle.

Founder Becky Kean said:  “We were ahead of the no/low curve when we started and now we’re riding the wave that’s come along. People aren’t just switching to nos/lows occasionally – or exclusively for Dry January – they’re genuinely embracing them. The fundraise and the return of this seasonal favourite both add further impetus to ten months of impressive growth.”
