Charles TyrwhittPrincesshay has confirmed that menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt will open a new South West store in Exeter, creating 8 new retail jobs in the city and expanding the centre’s fashion offer for 2026. Known for its British heritage, exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to quality, Charles Tyrwhitt offers timeless menswear designed to make every man look his best.

Located next door to Sweaty Betty, shoppers can expect the brand’s signature tailoring, casualwear and accessories. The new store will also offer Tyrwhitt’s complimentary personal fitting and styling appointments, helping customers find their perfect fit across formalwear, workwear and elevated weekend looks.

The announcement follows a year of investment in Princesshay, with Sweaty Betty, Victoria’s Secret and Sports Direct all opening in the centre during 2025. These additions highlight the confidence national brands have in Princesshay and strengthen its position as a key retail destination in the South West.

Princesshay also delivered a vibrant events programme, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup Fan Zone, Big Screen in the City in partnership with Exeter Phoenix, three independent markets and the annual student event Strictly Students, which saw a 40% increase in attendance compared with 2024.

The centre continued to champion community engagement, hosting over 100 charity and community events, supporting mental health awareness through the Let’s Chalk About Mental Health campaign, selecting Vranch House as its Charity of the Year and producing another season of honey from its city centre rooftop hives. Princesshay also sponsored and supported Pride, Art Week, ESAF, InExeter’s June Boom and the city’s wider Christmas celebrations.

Jon Walton, Princesshay centre manager, says: “Princesshay’s success in 2025 reflects the people who make the centre what it is, our retailers, partners, charities and the local community. We’re proud to play our part in the city through hosting events, supporting fundraising or creating moments that bring people together. The news that Charles Tyrwhitt will be joining us is a brilliant way to close the year and we look forward to working with the team in the new year.”

Joe Irons, chief sales and marketing officer, says: “We’re delighted to be opening another store in the South West at Princesshay. Exeter is a vibrant, thriving city and the perfect home for our next chapter of expansion. We look forward to welcoming customers in February and are excited to introduce our blend of British style, quality and great service to a new community of customers.”
