Cheshire Cheese Company unveils new look and revamped range

Premium cheese producer, The Cheshire Cheese Company, has undergone a contemporary brand refresh following November’s majority acquisition by family-owned cheese producer, Joseph Heler Ltd.

The new logo, packaging and website, which officially launch in June 2023, bring a cohesive look and feel to all elements of the brand and signal plans to extend its reach into Europe and beyond.

As part of the brand refresh, the range has been reinvigorated and now includes 13 expertly crafted flavours in two collections, all presented in colourful wax truckles and given eye-catching new names.

The modern look and feel of the Cheshire Cheese Company’s new branding has been mindfully and skillfully developed to support its ambitious future expansion plans across both UK and international markets, which it could not have contemplated in a post-Brexit climate without the backing of Joseph Heler. The small food producer is now in a strong position for growth, enabling it to continue proudly manufacturing cheese in the UK and preparing to export it to Europe, where there is a huge appetite for premium British cheese.

Product remains integral to this quality brand while development is central to its evolution. The brand celebrates its cheese-making heritage with its Cheddar, Cheshire and Red Leicester cheese all made via traditional time-honoured methods in Cheshire.

The Traditional collection includes the signature Black Bob (Extra Mature Cheddar), Traditional Cheshire (creamy Cheshire cheese), Vintage Gold (special aged Cheddar), and new to the range, Smokewood (smoked and aged Red Leicester).

The Alchemy collection includes nine indulgent blends, expertly crafted by blending the brand’s award-winning cheese with unique flavour infusions. The range features Masala (new for 2023, Red Leicester with mango chutney and nigella seeds), alongside Reserva (the brand’s best selling Cheddar with caramelised onion and Rioja), Jerk Spice (Cheddar with Jamaican jerk chilli and garlic), Gincello (Cheshire cheese with gin and lemon), Old Hag (Cheddar with local ale and wholegrain mustard), Shamrock (Cheddar with Irish whiskey and stem ginger), El Gringo (Cheddar with chilli, lime and tequila), Charcoal (mature Cheddar blended with activated charcoal) and Hunter (Cheddar with truffle and cracked black pepper).

In addition to the waxed cheeses, the Artisan collection has been created to include the Royal Blue Boxed Cheese, a unique soft blue-veined cheese, handmade in small batches using traditional methods.

Aiming to be the ultimate destination for premium cheese and gifting, the new look and feel will be reflected across the entire range of The Cheshire Cheese Company products, including its own brand of chutney, biscuits and gift hampers.

Available to delis, farm shops, garden centres, and independent retailers as well as online, the Cheshire Cheese Company is a recognisable brand that is known and loved across the UK for its high quality produce.

Talking of the refreshed brand, founder and managing director of The Cheshire Cheese Company, Simon Spurrell, said: “The last year has been perhaps the most exciting for us in our 12 year history. Having been majority acquired by Joseph Heler Ltd in 2022, we have so much scope to develop in ways we only dreamed of previously. The improved range each bears new names, fitting of the contemporary new look and of course carefully crafted flavours. We hope the new look products are well received by our trade and consumer customers alike and that people continue to enjoy our premium cheeses in the UK and overseas.”
