Menswear retailer Suit Direct reopened its Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet store on 27th March 2026, marking the rollout of its latest retail concept as part of its ongoing UK store investment strategy.
The refurbished store introduces a more premium, high-street-inspired design approach, combining upgraded materials, improved layout and enhanced merchandising to elevate the in-store experience.
The concept focuses on maximising space, improving customer flow and increasing product visibility, with the removal of central partitioning opening the full width of the store.
New store concept and design features
Key elements of the new concept include:
- High-street inspired finishes, including the introduction of prefinished Casella Oak Egger board across fixtures and fittings.
- Enhanced lighting, with full LED coverage and feature lighting to both front and rear of store, alongside pendant lighting at cash desks
- New concept cash desk, handmade with integrated accessory displays and premium oak cladding
- Improved fitting room experience, featuring Zoffany wallpaper and upgraded seating
- Expanded merchandising capabilities, including highline shoe fixtures with dedicated seating and larger display areas
- Increased mirror placement, including large three-way dress mirrors to support customer decision-making
- Sustainable flooring solution, using Tarkett ID Evolution (PVC-free, high mineral content)
Additional design details include updated mannequin collections, cleaner sightlines through refined metalwork, and integrated visual merchandising features to support cross-selling.
Retail director Amanda Argent said: “This reopening at Cheshire Oaks reflects our continued commitment to investing in high-quality retail destinations, which is evident in the upgraded shop fit, materials and overall in-store experience.
“As we continue to grow, we remain focused on opening stores in high-footfall shopping centres and key high street locations that help us build brand awareness and reach new customers.
“Through our experience, we know that a store size of around 1,200–2,000 sq. ft allows us to deliver the right product offer while driving optimum retail density.
“This latest investment forms part of a broader expansion pipeline, with recent openings including Liverpool in December, Watford launching on the 10th April, and further stores planned over the next 24 months.
“We’re also continuing to evolve our product offer, including the launch of our exclusive Ted Baker Endurance casual range this April, as we broaden beyond tailoring to meet changing customer demand.
“What sets us apart is our people, combining strong product expertise with world-class service to ensure every customer leaves confident they’ve found the right look for their occasion.”
