Chopstix, the UK’s leading Pan-Asian quick-service brand, has continued its expansion into France with the opening of its second restaurant in the country at Le Spot Shopping Centre at Évry 2.
Following the successful opening of its first French restaurant in Paris’ Bastille district earlier this year, the new restaurant in Évry-Courcouronnes, south of Paris, marks the latest milestone in Chopstix’s ambitious French growth strategy, bringing its distinctive take on fresh, fast and accessible Pan-Asian food to customers in the Essonne region.
Located within the Le Spot Shopping Centre, the new restaurant offers customers the opportunity to discover Chopstix’s signature noodle dishes and Pan-Asian recipes, bringing the brand’s big, bold flavours to a new audience outside central Paris.
The opening represents an important next step in Chopstix’s partnership with QSRP, which is supporting the brand’s development in France and helping to establish a strong platform for further growth across the country and across Europe.
Founded more than 20 years ago, Chopstix now operates more than 170 restaurants across the UK and Ireland. France is considered a significant opportunity for growth for the brand with Chopstix following up this opening in Évry-Courcouronnes, with a third site in Westfield Rosny 2 to the East of Paris, later this month.
Maya Hamadi, country manager of Chopstix France, said: “Opening our second restaurant in France is another hugely exciting moment for Chopstix and an important step as we establish the brand in this market. We’re aware of how well Chopstix performs in shopping centre sites in the UK so we’re excited to see how this format performs in France with the Évry 2 location.
“We’re incredibly proud of the teams who have worked so hard to make this opening happen. This is only the beginning of our French adventure, and we’re looking forward to continuing to build our presence across the country.”
Chopstix’s French expansion forms part of its wider international growth strategy, with the business aiming to establish a significant restaurant footprint in France over the coming years. The brand plans to use a variety of restaurant formats tailored to different locations and customer groups, with the Île-de-France region providing the initial focus before expansion into other parts of the country. Chopstix aim to open 10 stores in France this year.
