Deliveroo has today announced the expansion of its rapid grocery delivery service, opening two new ‘HOP’ sites in Canning Town and Kentish Town.

Both new sites will stock everyday essentials and customer favourites from leading high-street supermarkets – Canning Town with Morrisons and Kentish Town with Waitrose.

In the latest move by Deliveroo to expand its ‘HOP’ service across the UK, the new sites will give residents rapid on-demand access to products from 8am-11pm, 7 days a week, including Morrisons ‘The Best’ range of award-winning wines, and Waitrose’s ‘Duchy Organic’ collection of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Deliveroo HOP is now operating in approximately 70% of London boroughs, allowing tens of thousands of households across London to benefit from even faster grocery delivery, with Deliveroo’s network of riders delivering straight to customers’ doors in minutes.

New data from Deliveroo reveals the top-selling HOP grocery items across London since the start of the year includes bananas, avocados, chicken breast fillets, free range eggs, and sweetclem easy peelers.

Deliveroo first launched its rapid-delivery service in 2021 to complement the company’s existing on-demand grocery service, which already delivers from approaching 8,000 partner grocery stores in the UK&I – including Morrisons, Co-op, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Whole Foods in London.

Carlo Mocci, chief business officer UK&I, Deliveroo said: “HOP has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2021. Its enduring popularity demonstrates the importance that our customers place on accessing fresh groceries, delivered straight to their doorstep. The success of the service has meant a further expansion across London and we are excited to build on our longstanding and successful partnership with Morrisons and Waitrose to expand our grocery offer to local residents.”

Morrisons spokesperson said: “We are really proud to be launching our 11th site with Deliveroo Hop. The recent expansion in Canning Town means we can deliver fresh groceries to our customers in West Ham, Canary Wharf and Stratford in a matter of minutes giving them more reasons to shop at Morrisons.”
