Dunster House Ltd, the Bedford-based manufacturer of high-quality wooden garden buildings, has announced the opening of its latest production facility in Hebburn. The new site, spanning 8.9 acres, replaces a recently relocated DHL facility and is set to bring 60–70 new manufacturing jobs to the area.
The new facility marks another step forward in Dunster House’s ongoing UK expansion and will focus on the production of wooden garden buildings, supporting the company’s growing customer base across the North East. The investment not only revitalises a key local site but also boosts employment opportunities in the region.
Dunster House stands out in the industry for designing, prototyping, and testing all its products in the UK. With 14 existing production and distribution facilities across the UK, the addition of Newcastle increases that total to 15.
“Our continued growth reflects our commitment to British manufacturing and the communities we operate in,” said Christopher Murphy MBE, founder of Dunster House Ltd. “We’re proud to be bringing new opportunities to South Tyneside and strengthening our capacity to deliver exceptional products and service to our customers across the UK.”
Founded in 1994 by Christopher Murphy MBE, Dunster House remains a family-owned business now led by his sons Alex and Andy Murphy. The company’s mission is to provide high-quality, sustainably sourced garden buildings and structures at great value prices, maintaining its reputation as an industry leader for over 30 years.
