ELFBAR and LOST MARY retailer guide supports transition to reusable vapes

ElfbarELFBAR and LOST MARY, two of the UK’s most-used vaping brands for smoking cessation, are supporting retailers with a two-page guide to ease the nationwide transition from single-use to reusable vapes.

The guide is tailored so shop staff can help adult smokers and ex-smokers understand the benefits of switching to reusable alternatives, which are now a legal requirement, by addressing common customer questions about the brands’ flagship reusable products – the ELFBAR 600 Prefilled Pod Kit and LOST MARY BM600 Prefilled Pod Kit.

Vapes, especially single-use devices, and their variety of flavours have proven to be one of the most effective tools for quitting smoking. Part of ELFBAR and LOST MARY’s wider reusable product range, the ELFBAR 600 and LOST MARY BM600 Prefilled Pod Kits are designed to meet post-single-use vape ban regulatory requirements and encourage more sustainability, giving adult smokers and retailers products that support continuity and behavioural shifts in a changing market.

No setup required

Both Prefilled Pod Kits are ready to use straight out of the box, capturing the qualities that made the original ELFBAR 600 and LOST MARY BM600 popular with adults looking to quit smoking. Users simply insert the prefilled pod into the rechargeable device and it is ready to use – making the kits ideal for a simple transition.

Fast-charging, long-lasting rechargeable power

The devices contain a rechargeable battery that can be recharged more than 300 times, with a full charge taking less than an hour via a USB Type-C charging port.

The ELFBAR 600 Prefilled Pod Kit also features a built-in LED ring to indicate battery life. When the light turns red, it’s time to recharge.

Replaceable prefilled pods with built-in coil

The replaceable refill pods for the ELFBAR and LOST MARY Prefilled Pod Kits contain 2ml of 20mg e-liquid, delivering up to 600 puffs.

Each kit includes one prefilled pod to get started. Replacement pods are available separately and sold in packs of two, making the reusable products more cost-effective and less wasteful than single-use counterparts.

Supported by readily available refill pods, ELFBAR and LOST MARY have worked closely with retailers, wholesalers and distributors to ensure supply and accessibility for adult users nationwide, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and wholesale partners like Booker – with Morrisons set to follow soon.

A variety of flavour options enhanced with QUAQ Mesh Technology

The replacement prefilled pods for ELFBAR and LOST MARY are available in a wide selection of flavours. Additionally, the ELFBAR 600 Prefilled Pod Kit is also compatible with ELFA PRO prefilled and refillable pods, further expanding the choice of flavours.

Enhanced with QUAQ fine mesh coil technology, the pods are engineered to provide a consistent and improved flavour delivery – surpassing their single-use versions.

Chris Kader, Head of PR and Communications for ELFBAR and LOST MARY in the UK, said: “The guide is part of the brands’ ongoing effort of working closely with retail partners – offering support that includes compliance advice and education on the features and benefits of reusable options – and has also been shared by retail trade associations with their members.

“With reusable devices new to many adult users, the ELFBAR 600 and LOST MARY BM600 Prefilled Pod Kits reflect the qualities smokers valued in our single-use devices while meeting the new regulation and the need for more sustainable alternatives – helping to prevent smokers from returning to cigarettes post-ban.”

The guide as part of wider efforts

While the guide is primarily to assist retailers in communicating with customers, it also feeds into the brands’ wider initiatives to support adult smokers amid the single-use ban.

These efforts are particularly important at a time when misconceptions about vaping persist. The NHS, ASH and a UCL study all identify that many people, including smokers, still wrongly believe vaping is as, or more, harmful than smoking. Similarly, a recent ELFBAR survey found that 42% of current UK smokers mistakenly share this view. There are concerns that, without ongoing and more widespread education, the single-use vapes ban will unintentionally reinforce these misperceptions and jeopardise progress towards the UK’s smokefree ambition.

The same ELFBAR survey found that around two million UK vapers (35%) said they would resort to illegal single-use vapes, return to smoking, or smoke more if the Government imposes overly restrictive regulations on vape flavours, display and packaging alongside the introduction of the ban from June. The guide aims to help mitigate this risk.

The guide can be viewed on both the ELFBAR and LOST MARY websites.
