In celebration of World Ocean Day, British lifestyle & accessories brand Elizabeth Scarlett is proud to unveil its latest limited-edition design: the World Ocean Day Pouch, available exclusively at www.elizabethscarlett.com for £32.00 – launching 8th of June.
As part of their deep-rooted commitment to environmental impact, Elizabeth Scarlett donates 2% of every purchase to wildlife conservation projects worldwide. This special release marks a significant moment in the brand’s ongoing collaboration with Blue Marine Foundation, a leading charity working to protect and restore life in the ocean.
Elizabeth Scarlett is committed to donating over £42,000 to Blue Marine Foundation each year. Throughout their 3 year partnership, the brand has contributed over £150,000 to support the foundation’s vital marine conservation initiatives. These funds help power critical work across ecologically rich regions such as Ascension Island, one of the world’s largest marine protected areas, and the Dutch Caribbean, which is committing to protect 30% of its waters.
Proceeds from the World Ocean Day Pouch, along with sales from Elizabeth Scarlett’s ocean-inspired collections, directly support turtle rangers on Ascension Island and in the Dutch Caribbean. These local conservationists are vital for protecting turtle nesting sites on the beaches to ensure that as many baby turtles as possible hatch and make it to adulthood.
Elizabeth Scarlett also champions Blue Marine’s broader advocacy work, including its current campaign to ban bottom trawling in UK marine protected areas—a critical issue highlighted in the documentary, OCEAN WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH.
Elizabeth Scarlett Petrides “Our oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, and their protection is not just an environmental responsibility but a passion that’s woven into the fabric of the brand. This World Ocean Day collection is really special to us. The design represents what our oceans could be when left to thrive: absolutely teeming with life and natural beauty. Working alongside the incredible team at Blue Marine Foundation has opened my eyes to both the fragility and the resilience of our ocean’s ecosystems. With every accessory purchased, you create lasting, meaningful impact, from protecting endangered sea turtles to nurturing marine habitats where oceans life can flourish.”
Clare Brook, CEO of Blue Marine Foundation, said: “We are so grateful for the support of Elizabeth Scarlett for donating 2% of every purchase to vital conservation work. At a time when support for nature is in retreat
world-wide, companies like Elizabeth Scarlett are literally keeping conservation work going. Elizabeth’s support has saved the lives of thousands of endangered turtles and penguins.”
Brook went on to add: “Ascension, which now hosts one of the biggest fully no-take marine protected areas in the world, was once heavily fished by long-liners whose 50-mile-long baited hooks killed sharks, sailfish, turtles and seabirds, as well as their target species of tuna. The marine protected area is working so well that this turtle nesting season saw the highest number of green turtles on Ascension’s beaches since records began in the 1970s. The team, supported by Elizabeth Scarlett and Blue Marine Foundation, is monitoring and protecting these wonderful creatures, ensuring maximum survival rates. It’s thrilling to see years of conservation work paying off.”
This World Ocean Day, Elizabeth Scarlett invites customers to shop with purpose and join a growing movement to protect our blue planet—one pouch at a time.
