Leeds-based bathroom retailer Sanctuary Bathrooms is more than doubling its warehouse footprint after a record year for online revenue, leasing a new 16,353sq ft warehouse in Holbeck as it invests in fulfilment capacity, its product range, and its team.
The family-run retailer, which supplies homeowners and trade customers across the UK with high-quality, competitively priced bathroom fixtures, fittings, and accessories, secured the lease on the additional Holbeck unit in August 2026. The new site adds to its existing 12,000sq ft warehouse operation, taking Sanctuary Bathrooms’ total warehouse footprint beyond 28,000sq ft.

The investment follows strong growth across Sanctuary Bathrooms’ ecommerce operation, with online revenue and transactions both increasing at double-digit rates between 2024 and 2025, and 2025 marking a record year for online revenue, despite subdued conditions in the wider bathroom retail market. Website sessions and page views also rose by more than 20% over the same period. That momentum has continued in 2026, with both metrics up more than 15% year to date compared with the equivalent period in 2025, according to GA4 data.
The additional space will allow Sanctuary Bathrooms to hold more stock on site and reduce its reliance on external storage during peak trading periods, while helping the retailer shorten customer lead times and fulfil orders more efficiently.
The increased capacity will also give Sanctuary Bathrooms greater flexibility to broaden and diversify its product range at a time when economic pressures are prompting many manufacturers to streamline their ranges and reduce stockholding. The retailer has continued to expand its offer across different styles and price points in response to customer demand, adding established brands including TOTO in 2025 and Laufen and Imex in 2026.
The additional space will also help strengthen existing supplier relationships, create opportunities to work with new partners, and accelerate plans to expand Sanctuary Bathrooms’ own-brand range with UK and overseas suppliers.
Director James Roberts says: “We have never shied away from investing in our people or the infrastructure needed to grow, and securing this additional warehouse capacity is an important step in scaling the business.
“Customers increasingly expect fast and reliable fulfilment, while retailers also need the resilience to respond to changing trading conditions and pressures across the supply chain. Holding more stock ourselves gives us greater control over availability and the customer experience, while reducing our reliance on external storage.
“It also gives us room to broaden our product offering, develop our own-brand ranges further, and build relationships with new suppliers as we continue to grow.”
The retailer has also made five new hires in 2026, increasing overall headcount by 20%, from 24 to 29. Three of the appointments are in marketing, with two in warehouse operations.
Digital marketing manager Mark Fullilove, who joined Sanctuary Bathrooms in 2020 as its first in-house marketer, says: “When I joined Sanctuary Bathrooms, the ambition was to build on the success of an established family business and accelerate its online growth. To see that strategy translate into sustained growth in both online revenue and transactions is incredibly rewarding.
“That online growth relies on much more than the website itself. From marketing and product choice through to customer service, stock availability, and fulfilment, every part of the customer journey has to work together.
“The additional warehouse capacity and the continued investment we are making in our team give us a strong platform to build on that momentum.”
Among the new hires are Rebecca Parvin-Graham as Digital PR Manager and Halle Audsley as Social Media Manager, marking the first time Sanctuary Bathrooms has brought dedicated PR and social media roles in house. The appointments will strengthen key marketing channels and help build the retailer’s profile and brand awareness in Leeds and across the UK.
