Co-op Wholesale has officially launched a new Nisa Congleton store after the operator switched from his former Morrison’s Daily fascia. It is now open to the public serving a wide selection of award-winning Co-op Brand lines as well as other popular convenience goods.

Located on St John’s Road in the Cheshire town, the new store has benefited from a full fit out of the new Nisa proposition from its previous fascia. Standing at 1,500sqft, the new store is the third Nisa store for business owner Martin Corban.

Corban will operate the store serving the bustling residential area with vital food for now, on the go food and drink solutions, snacks, treats, BWS, fresh, produce and more. The new store gives local shoppers access to a wide range of everyday essentials, fresh food and Co-op brand products, offering them quality, value and convenience. Among the Co-op brand lines available to all Nisa symbols to stock are fresh and chilled, food-to-go, fresh produce, frozen and award-winning premium ranges, under the Irresistible moniker.

Nisa stores uniquely benefit from having access to the Co-op brand, which brings a wealth of benefit to independent retailers’ customers, from recognisable products that fit their lifestyle to solutions for any meal or snacking occasion. Nisa retailers also receive far-reaching support from Co-op Wholesale teams, encompassing operations, supply chain, marketing and more to support the running of their independent business.

Holly Perry, key account manager at Co-op Wholesale, commented: “We’re really pleased to be opening this store with Martin and team as partners. It is in a superb location and is set up to trade well, serve the community and make a brilliant retail business. We wish the team the very best of luck and are certain it will go from strength to strength.”

Martin Corban, owner of Nisa Congleton, commented: “Opening our Nisa store in Congleton marks a really exciting time – we’ve long admired all that comes with being part of the Co-op Wholesale group, including access to the Co-op brand lines, the outstanding expertise and support and the highly recognisable Nisa symbol. The town is undergoing significant housing development meaning quality convenience stores provide a much-needed amenity. We’ve received excellent support from the Co-op Wholesale team and are looking forward to working with them as we grow our business and service this town and beyond.”

Making a difference in the Community (MADL)

A unique point of difference and real draw for Nisa stores is Co-op Wholesale’s charity – Making A Difference Locally (MADL). It supports retail partners through fundraising via Co-op brand products’ sales to support causes local to stores.

Via MADL, £500 has been donated to The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation – a foundation set up to help children and young adults in need, in and around the local area, as well as charities supporting those affected by road traffic deaths.

Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead said: “The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation is a charity close to the hearts of the team at Nisa Congleton and was chosen to receive £500 from MADL as part of the launch celebrations.  The Foundation was created in memory of Georgia ‘Gee’ Ogden and is a powerful example of turning tragedy into hope for others.  The donation will support the Foundation’s work helping children and young adults in need, as well as those affected by road traffic fatalities.  We wish the charity every success as it continues to honour Gee’s memory through positive action in local communities.”
