Fenwick and Fentimans This April, two of the North East’s powerhouses, premium soft drinks and mixers brand, Fentimans and luxury department store Fenwick, are teaming up to bring a brand new botanical garden to the heart of Newcastle city centre.

Launching on Thursday 24th April, the Botanical Garden by Fentimans will offer guests the opportunity to experience an exquisite indoor oasis at the retailer’s flagship store on Northumberland Street, through a unique fusion of delicious food and drink and stunning florals.

The one-of-a-kind pop-up, which will be available for drinks and dining until the end of June, will blend Fentimans’ rich heritage, iconic flavours, and signature Botanical Brewing process, in celebration of the brand’s 120th anniversary. Inspired by Fentimans’ dedication to bold and expertly crafted flavours, the space will be adorned with flowers, fruit and foliage, offering a striking sensory experience which brings the outdoors in.

Guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a curated menu that showcases the distinctive flavours of Fentimans’ iconic drinks, with dishes infused with and inspired by their signature beverages. Highlights include a variety of floral flatbreads, from Smoked Salmon and Avocado served with cream cheese and chives and a hint of Victorian Lemonade, to Beef Brisket with Dandelion and Burdock, served with carrot, kale and apple slaw. Diners can also enjoy a vibrant selection of botanical salads and light bites, including Elderflower marinated watermelon and feta, and Heritage tomato and mozzarella served with cherry cola balsamic vinegar.

To complement the dining experience, guests can enjoy an essence of summer in every sip, with drinks garnished with botanicals and edible flowers and curated by award-winning bartender and Fentimans ambassador, Joe Schofield. Highlights include The Jigger Espresso, a unique fusion of Mandarin and Seville Jigger, cacao, dark rum, and a shot of espresso, alongside The Mint and Meadow, which combines Elderflower Tonic, citrus, mint and vodka.

Guests can also enjoy a selection of fruity cocktails including the Lavender Rose Kiss, made with Fentimans Rose Lemonade, lavender and citrus, the Rhubarb Aperol Fizz, which combines Aperol, Fentimans Rhubarb Tonic and prosecco and the Pink Sunset spritz, a vibrant infusion of Campari, Fentimans Pink Grapefruit Tonic, mint and prosecco. Also available will be a selection of breakfast cocktails, mocktails and hot drinks, alongside a variety of Fentimans signature soft drinks.

Located on the first floor, in the space that was previously home to Fenwick’s Arthur’s and Barbour Teas & Toasties, the Botanical Garden by Fentimans marks another exciting collaboration for Fenwick, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to championing North East brands. The collaboration follows a series of regional partnerships already this year which have brought together some of the North East’s most celebrated names, from South Shields’ Colmans to East Boldon’s Blacks Corner.

The partnership is a perfect match for the two family businesses who both have a profound heritage in the North East. Fenwick was founded in 1882 in the heart of Newcastle, and Fentimans in 1905.

Jayne Andrews, marketing director at Fentimans, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating 120 years of exquisite taste with the launch of our Botanical Garden at Fenwick. We wanted to offer customers the opportunity to enjoy a vibrant escape that brings the outdoors in and perfectly captures everything Fentimans stands for. From the bold flavours of the food and drink to the beautiful, floral surroundings, the space is a true embodiment of our brand and heritage. It’s a true celebration of 120 years of flavour and innovation, and we can’t wait to welcome guests this spring.”

Kieran McBride, store director at Fenwick, added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Fentimans to launch the Botanical Garden at Fenwick Newcastle this spring. This collaboration offers our customers a truly unique experience and continues our ongoing commitment to championing fellow iconic North East brands. We’re really excited to welcome customers and give them the opportunity to experience the bold flavours and expert craftsmanship that Fentimans is known for.”

The Fentimans Botanical Garden will be open daily for dining from 9 am – 6:30 pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10:30 am – 5 pm on Sundays at Fenwick Newcastle.
