New internal data from LOOKFANTASTIC reveals the fragrances UK shoppers have fallen for this year, and the No.1 spot might not be the one you’d expect.
For years, the best-seller lists have been dominated by designer eau de parfums. But 2026 has seen a body mist take the top spot, a noughties favourite stage a huge comeback, and shoppers choosing to invest in bigger bottles of the scents they already love.
As the year draws to a close and Christmas shopping gets underway, LOOKFANTASTIC has used its internal data to reveal the UK’s 10 best-selling fragrances of 2026 so far.
The data shows that Yves Saint Laurent is the UK’s most-loved fragrance house, claiming six of the top 10 spots across Libre, Black Opium and MYSLF. But it’s Sol de Janeiro that takes the crown, with its Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist the No.1 fragrance of the year.
The 10 best-selling fragrances of 2026 (so far)
According to the data from LOOKFANTASTIC, these are the best-selling fragrances shoppers have been adding to their baskets this year:
1. Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist 240ml – YoY: +6%
The scent of the Bum Bum Cream in a mist, and the UK’s No.1 fragrance of 2026. With its warm notes of pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla, it’s the holiday-in-a-bottle scent that shoppers just keep coming back to. Generous, affordable and easy to spritz over hair, body and clothes, it’s proof that you don’t need an eau de parfum to have a signature scent.
2. Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum 50ml – YoY: +12%
YSL’s modern classic continues to grow. Libre’s blend of lavender, orange blossom and vanilla has made it one of the most recognisable fragrances on the high street, and the 50ml is the most popular size of all.
3. TOM FORD Ombre Leather Eau de Parfum 100ml – YoY: +24%
The biggest riser outside of YSL. This smoky, leathery scent with cardamom and jasmine is loved by men and women alike, and its growth shows UK shoppers are increasingly choosing fragrance by scent rather than by who it’s “meant” for.
4. Cosmic by Kylie Jenner Eau de Parfum 100ml – YoY: Flat (-0.3%)
Kylie Jenner’s fragrance has held its spot as one of the UK’s favourites, matching last year’s sales almost exactly. A warm, glowing floral at an accessible price point, it’s the No.2 most-bought fragrance on the list by number of bottles sold.
5. Yves Saint Laurent MYSLF Eau de Parfum 60ml – YoY: +9%
YSL’s men’s fragrance built around orange blossom is now firmly in the UK’s top five. Fresh, woody and modern, it shows that florals in men’s fragrance are here to stay.
6. Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum 30ml – YoY: -14%
Libre makes its second appearance on the list, but the 30ml is the only size in decline. With the 50ml and 90ml both growing, Libre fans appear to be trading up to a bigger bottle.
7. Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum 50ml – YoY: -15%
Prada’s refillable amber floral remains a firm favourite, with its neroli and soft musk notes making it a go-to for everyday wear, even as sales have cooled slightly from last year.
8. Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum 30ml – YoY: +85%
Black Opium is back. Its addictive mix of coffee, vanilla and white flowers first launched over a decade ago, and it’s now winning over a whole new generation of fans, with the 30ml almost doubling its sales this year.
9. Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum 90ml – YoY: +11%
Libre’s third appearance in the top 10, and the 90ml is growing alongside the 50ml. For many shoppers, this is now an everyday scent worth stocking up on.
10. Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum 90ml – YoY: +309%
The fastest-growing fragrance in the top 10. Black Opium’s biggest bottle has more than quadrupled its sales this year, as shoppers who’ve rediscovered the scent go all in on the largest size.
What this data tells us about fragrance in 2026
Body mists have gone mainstream
Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 62 has beaten every designer eau de parfum to the No.1 spot, showing that shoppers want scents they can layer and spritz freely throughout the day.
YSL is the UK’s favourite fragrance house
With six of the top 10 places, Yves Saint Laurent dominates the chart, with Libre appearing three times and Black Opium twice.
The Black Opium comeback
The 90ml is up 309% and the 30ml is up 85%, making Black Opium the breakout story of 2026 and proof that a much-loved classic can find a whole new audience.
Bigger is better
The 50ml and 90ml sizes of Libre are both growing while the 30ml is down 14%, and Black Opium’s 90ml is growing far faster than its 30ml. Once shoppers find a scent they love, they’re investing in the bigger bottle.
Fragrance without the labels
TOM FORD Ombre Leather and YSL MYSLF are both growing, as unisex and gender-neutral scents earn a permanent place in the UK’s top 10.
