Free charging at St George’s Shopping Park, Leicester

St George’s Shopping Park, is a thriving shopping destination in the heart of Leicester. The site is conveniently located for shoppers and drivers within central Leicester and contains some of the leading brands in UK retail including an Aldi, Currys, Costa and Dreams.

As a festive gift to EV driving shoppers, RAW are offering free charging will begin at 12:01am on Friday 22 December and normal fees will resume at 23:59 on Thursday 28 December. This offer will allow Christmas shoppers and local residents to charge their vehicles over the festive period.

RAW’s Rapid Hub Strategy

The Rapid Hub facilities are designed to deliver ultra-rapid EV charging to drivers. In England, over 60% of dwellings in cities and urban areas do not have garages or other off-road parking provisions, and so must rely on electricity from publicly accessible networks.

RAW is the go-to provider for destination charging for the hospitality, leisure, and retail sectors, having partnered with a range of organisations such as McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, Merlin Entertainments, National Trust, and Greene King.

RAW also works with commercial property owners to develop brownfield land into Rapid Charging Hubs. RAW currently operates Rapid Hubs throughout the UK including sites in Leeds, Slough, Bishop Auckland and Croydon.

Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging, said: “We think it is only fitting to celebrate our latest site by offering free charging for a week, especially over the Christmas period, allowing shoppers to do last minute Christmas shopping and go to the boxing day sales all whilst charging for free. Rapid Hubs form an important part of our strategy, and we offer a turnkey solution to all asset owners that are looking to install EV chargers on their land.”
