Zapp, London’s leading premium convenience delivery app, has found that Gen Z Londoners are opting for premium ice cream bites and frozen snacks over traditional ice cream tubs and lollies.
It found:
Sales of ice cream minis and frozen snacks/bites on Zapp are up 217% year-on-year, with Gen Z driving demand for elevated frozen treats they’ve spotted on TikTok.
Overall ice cream category sales are up 50% year-on-year, boosted by new additions like TruFru and Franui (frozen chocolate-covered fruit).
TikTok hashtags like #FrozenSnacks and #MiniIceCream has racked up millions of views.
When they treat themselves, they want quality and are willing to pay for it. Our most popular frozen snacks range from £6.99 (TruFru) and £7.99 (Franui) up to £12.99 (Ice Cream Union).
Ice Cream Union is now available for 24/7 delivery on Zapp – making it the only option and go-to choice for Gen Z’s midnight heatwave cravings
Tali Lawrence, buyer at Zapp, said: “We’ve seen a real shift in how Gen Z are snacking this summer – it’s less about traditional tubs and more about frozen snacks and ice-cream bites. TikTok trends like aesthetic freezer restocks, late-night snack drawer videos and viral brands like TruFru have really fuelled this movement. Gen Z are also more health-conscious, so we’re seeing a clear move towards portion-controlled treats that still feel indulgent but fit into a wellness-led lifestyle.”
