BuzzBallz is giving away 21,866 free BuzzBallz to adult fans this summer – one for every day since England men’s team last lifted a trophy in 1966. The cult-favourite ready-to-drink brand has launched a nationwide effort to stop fans obsessing over results and enjoy the moments that make tournament football memorable.
Fronted by football legend Harry Redknapp, ‘Show Us Your (Buzz)Ballz’ will reward England supporters who best capture the fun, humour and spontaneity of following England during a major tournament, with thousands of free BuzzBallz up for grabs via social media when the football starts on Thursday, June 11th.
To enter, fans of legal drinking age, simply need to upload a photo or video, showing where (and how) their BuzzBallz are turning up during the tournament in a funny, spontaneous or unexpected way.
From recreating iconic football moments with the round bottle shape, to pulling off ridiculous trick shots on the way to the pub, or discovering unexpected places a BuzzBallz can appear on matchday, the brand is calling on fans to show off the creativity, humour and unforgettable moments that make tournament football great.
This celebration of fun comes as new research from BuzzBallz revealed that 70% of England fans believe football has become “too serious” in recent years.
The study found 43% of fans believe supporters now overanalyse everything, while almost three in ten (29%) feel football has become too commercial. Many also said they miss the fan culture, personalities and memorable chants that once defined major tournaments.
Leading the charge is Harry Redknapp, who is encouraging England fans to embrace the mayhem and “show us your (buzz)ballz” this summer.
Harry Redknapp said: “Tournament football should be about mates, memories and having a laugh. Everyone gets so wrapped up in the pressure and expectation now, but some of the best football moments come when fans are just enjoying themselves.
“That’s what I like about this project with the fans – it’s a bit outrageous, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and hopefully we’ll see some properly creative entries from fans over the summer.”
Jess Scheerhorn, president of BuzzBallz, added: “BuzzBallz has always been about bold flavour, big personality, spontaneous fun and ultimately – big, round ballz!
“So, we wanted to create a project for fans that puts our ballz and football at the centre, encouraging creativity, embracing their spontaneous sides, and celebrating the occasion responsibly this summer.”
Those aged 18 and over who send in a photo or video showing their BuzzBallz in a funny, creative or unexpected way during the summer of football will have the chance to win free BuzzBallz products. Fans can enter by following the entry form in Harry Redknapp’s Instagram account bio.
Users will then be guided through an entry form to confirm their details and complete an age verification check. Once verified, selected winners will receive a free crate of BuzzBallz delivered to their UK address every second month, for 12 months.
