In celebration of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day releasing exclusively in cinemas 29 July, pop culture fans are invited to unleash their inner superhero this Thursday as hmv prepares to host an action-packed themed Event Day at its iconic 363 Oxford Street shop.

Upon entering the shop, fans will be greeted by a costumed Spider-Man for the ultimate selfie moment as well as a curated selection of Marvel products from t-shirts to collectibles, figurines, graphic novels and films.

The adventure continues up on the First Floor, where visitors will have the opportunity to play a high stakes Funko Spin game with prizes ranging from full-size Funko POP! to stylish bag charms.

Meanwhile, The HMV Bookshop on the top floor will be taken over for an exclusive green screen photo moment, giving fans the chance to unleash their inner superhero and star in their very own comic book moment.

Once they’ve struck their best hero pose, fans can sign up for a chance to be one of 60 people to win a pair of tickets to see the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day before its official release at exclusive hmv screening in London on 28th July.

To make the day even more spectacular, hmv is offering an exclusive goody bag to customers who spend £10 or more on Spider-Man or Marvel-related merchandise during the event.

Whether you are a die-hard comic collector, a Funko fanatic, or just looking for a heroic family day out in London, 363 Oxford Street is the only place to be on 23rd July.

Phil Halliday, managing director of hmv, said: “At hmv, we are passionate about creating unforgettable, immersive experiences for the community. By teaming up with Sony Pictures, we’re giving fans the chance to step directly into the world of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. We can’t wait to welcome fans of all ages through our doors for what promises to be a spectacular day.”
