Iceland Foods has expanded its range of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) labelled seafood, giving customers a wider variety of responsibly farmed and certified products both in-store and online.
The retailer has grown its own-label range of ASC-certified farmed seafood to eight products, with a commitment to increase this to over 25 products by the end of 2026.
As part of this pledge, all own-label whole prawn products will also be ASC-certified and clearly display the ASC logo.
The ASC sets rigorous standards for responsible aquaculture, encouraging environmentally and socially responsible farming practices while ensuring full traceability and transparency throughout the supply chain.
Richard Walker, Executive Chairman at Iceland Foods said: “We know our customers care deeply about where their food comes from, and by expanding our ASC-certified range, we’re making it easier than ever for people to make informed, sustainable choices without compromising on quality or taste.
“Initiatives like this set the standard for the entire industry, whilst demonstrating Iceland’s dedication to doing the right thing for our oceans.”
