Ink by Grant BurgeInk by Grant Burge has partnered with New York City-based artist Craig Costello, founder of KRINK, an esteemed artist materials brand and creative studio, to craft a limited-edition pack for Barossa Ink.

The KRINK x Barossa Ink Limited Edition Shiraz embodies a fusion of art and flavour, showcasing a contemporary and bold style both inside and out. Cultivated in the heart of Barossa, Australia’s premium Shiraz region, this wine boasts a bold and generous character with rich berry notes complemented by hints of mocha, all wrapped in a deep, almost ink-like hue. Priced at £11, KRINK x Barossa Ink will be exclusively available from September at Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, while stocks last.

This collaboration is rooted in Craig Costello’s, also known as ‘KR,’ profound connection to ‘ink,’ having pioneered his own line of paints and inks in the 90s. Costello, a highly respected artist based in New York, has left his mark across the globe with his large format installations and has collaborated with renowned brands such as Tiffany & Co and Levi’s. KRINK x Barossa Ink marks Costello’s first partnership with a wine brand.

Barossa Ink, introduced by Grant Burge Wines in 2017 as part of the Accolade Wines family, aims to deliver the most vibrant and impactful wines possible. Following the success of its existing portfolio, the Ink by Grant Burge range has experienced 52% volume growth over the past four years, the limited-edition KRINK x Barossa Ink joins the lineup. Barossa Ink in the UK  is up 12.4% value in past year.

The launch of KRINK x Barossa Ink will be accompanied by  digital content, online and  in store, as well as a media event, paid-for influencer activity and hypeboxes.

Tom Smith, marketing director – Europe, Accolade Wines, said: “Barossa Ink Shiraz has garnered a dedicated following. We anticipate that this limited-edition pack will not only resonate with our loyal consumers but also attract a younger, creative audience to the brand. The Grant Burge Wines brand ethos of ‘Leave Your Mark’ aligns seamlessly with KRINK and his artistic style. We are thrilled to collaborate and introduce this disruptive limited-edition design.”

Craig Costello said: “Collaborating with Barossa Ink was a natural fit — we are both are creatively developing formulas to make something special. It was great to incorporate my drip aesthetic with Barossa Ink’s existing branding to design something visually unique.”

KRINK x Barossa Ink Limited Edition Shiraz will be available in Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco from 1st September 2024.
