bottlegreen launches non-alcoholic spritz drinks inviting the nation to take a “Hugo Hour”

bottlegreenCotswolds-based drinks brand bottlegreen is launching two beautifully crafted, non-alcoholic spritzes inspired by the sun-soaked elegance of the Italian aperitivo.

Hugo Spritz has been dubbed the drink of the summer, and bottlegreen’s zero-alcohol take on it – made with Cotswolds spring water, hand-picked elderflowers, fresh lime juice and a hint of mint – makes perfect mocktail sense from the brand renowned for its expertise in elderflower.

Or you could opt for the vibrant, bitter-sweet notes of Bitter Orange Spritz. An alcohol-free, sophisticated blend of bold citrus and botanicals with a lively sparkle that will satisfy your aperitivo cravings without the alcohol.

These sophisticated spritzes are the perfect drink to mark the transition where work ends and your time begins, so bottlegreen is encouraging the UK / the nation to grab a glass and embrace sundown without the comedown.

Enter the Hugo Hour: As a nation, we have lost the art of switching off, spending an average of more than 7 hours on screens daily. Yet six in ten smartphone owners say they want to spend less time on their devices.

bottlegreen is on a mission to give the great British sundowner the time and attention it deserves – inspired by Italy, just like its Spritz flavours. Italians are masters of marking the end of the day, through rituals like La Passeggiata (the evening stroll) and aperitivo (the pre-dinner drink), creating a deliberate but enjoyable separation between the working day and the evening ahead.

The Hugo Hour is bottlegreen’s British take on Italian tradition: A daily ritual to stop the scroll, mark the moment with a delicious Spritz, and just be.

How to do Hugo Hour, bottlegreen-style:

  1. Turn your phone face down and on silent.
  2. Add ice and a slice (lime or orange) to a wine glass.
  3. Top your glass up with bottlegreen’s Hugo Spritz – or Bitter Orange Spritz, if you prefer
  4. Find your favourite spot to relax and enjoy your drink, interruption-free.

Kate Walker, senior brand manager at bottlegreen, says: “The moment that the sun makes an appearance, the cravings for a spritz start: Google Trends shows that searches for Hugo Spritz have doubled in the past month alone. Our two new spritzes are the perfect drinks for that sundown ritual moment, delivering all the flavour with none of the alcohol. As carving out time to unwind feels more important than ever, we hope to inspire people to embrace the Italian way to end the day, bottlegreen-style, and savour a Hugo Hour.”

bottlegreen Spritzes are available to buy now in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and at www.bottlegreen.com
