With summer holidays in full swing and more electric vehicles on the road than ever before*, InstaVolt – the UK’s leading ultra-rapid EV charging network – has officially declared 2025 the Year of the Electric Road Trip.
With over 1.6 million electric vehicles now on UK roads, an increase of nearly half a million since last year* and staycations still a favourite choice for families, the company’s flagship summer campaign, EVeryone, EVerywhere, celebrates a new era of road-tripping powered by 100% renewable electricity.
“No matter what kind of staycation you’re planning – from exploring historic towns to relaxing in rural hideaways – InstaVolt is there to keep your journey going.
“Now operating over 2,000 chargers across the UK, InstaVolt is focused on making EV travel fast, easy and everywhere drivers need it,” said InstaVolt CEO Delvin Lane.
From drive-through bays for caravanners at its new Winchester Superhub to fully accessible charge points across larger sites, the network supports real-world drivers with real-world needs.
To help drivers save even more this summer, InstaVolt has introduced special discounted rates at select hubs until 31st August.
The Summer Special charging rate is available at locations on key travel routes including Pontefract, Bodmin, Winchester Superhub, Syon Park, Exeter, Derby and Southampton – offering EV users the chance to charge from just £0.50 per kWh via the app or InstaVolt RFID card, and £0.54 with contactless. These offers reflect InstaVolt’s commitment to affordability, accessibility and sustainability, with all chargers powered by 100% renewable energy.
The free InstaVolt app helps users find their ideal stop – whether that’s fully accessible bays, quick access to food and loos, or space to stretch out with the kids or dogs – as well as offering off-peak pricing from 10pm–6am for app users.
InstaVolt’s recent social media poll revealed the top destinations for EV drivers this summer with the Lake District and Cornwall topping the list. As part of its commitment to installing infrastructure where drivers need it most, InstaVolt has major hubs in Windermere, the gateway to the Lake District, and Exeter, perfect for drivers heading to the south west.
These join InstaVolt’s wider network of more than 2,000 chargers across the UK. From the Superhub at Winchester (perfect for those headed to the New Forest or south coast) to partner sites at McDonald’s, Costa Coffee and Booths Supermarkets, InstaVolt is helping drivers recharge both their cars and themselves.
With charging stops designed for drivers, toddlers, teens and even pets, InstaVolt continues to lead the way in simple, subscription-free charging.
