Jollyes Pets, the UK’s fast-growing discount pet retailer, announced it has delivered strong growth during its full financial year to 31 May 2026 and is laying out a plan to double the number of stores over the next five years.
Over the 12-month period, 14 new stores helped Jollyes deliver total revenue growth of 8.7 per cent as sales hit £169m with transactions rising by 7.0 per cent.
Over the same period, like-for-like sales growth excluding new stores gained momentum, growing by 4.3 per cent as Jollyes made significant moves to deliver more value and convenience to its growing number of shoppers.
These included:
– New and refreshed brands – the rollout of new own label brands such as ‘Simply Jollyes’, its first dedicated ‘value’ range and new product development for Lifestage, its core own label for cats and dogs.
– Frozen Raw Food – The introduction of an extended frozen food range across its estate, bringing significant new brands such as Dibo to a growing number of customers who see the benefits of raw feeding.
– Natural Treats – The launch of ‘pick and mix’ Natural Treats from 25 pence such as sausages, lamb braid, pig’s ears and pork rolls.
– Uber Eats – An exclusive partnership with Uber Eats which allows pet owners across the UK to order everything from kibble to catnip in minutes.
At its recent store managers’ conference, Jollyes also laid out ambitious plans to underline its position as the leading challenger in a UK pet market that’s expected to grow by 11 per cent to £4.3bn by 2030.
Those plans include an ambition to double its store estate in the next five years from 123 today to over 250. Jollyes recently released a list of over 160 target locations, should the right sites become available.
This growth ambition also extends to its ranges: in the last four weeks it has launched a new own label pet nutrition food range, Optimum Pet Health (OPH), to cut the cost of specialist diets recommended by vets.
It is also rolling out a new fresh food proposition, as pet owners demand even more choice for their pets.
The new fresh ranges, which build on the ‘humanisation’ trend in pets, include over 30 meals such as Turkey Triumph or Cod Crew from Tuggs, fresh cooked beef or salmon from Dibo, salmon, lamb, beef or chicken from Nutriment and Tasty Turkey or luscious lamb from Wilsons.
Adam Dury, Jollyes’ chief executive officer said: “This was a strong year for Jollyes as we transformed our offer, built our store network at pace and invested in our colleagues.
“But this is only the beginning – we’re determined to accelerate our growth as we bring Jollyes’ value to more places to serve more communities.
“This full-year growth reflects the strength of our value strategy and the growing loyalty of pet owners across the UK, giving us real confidence as we push ahead with our five-year plans to double the size of the business.
“Our compelling price leadership, combined with the expertise of our people and the continued development and innovation in our ranges, gives us an exciting platform for our ambitious plans to grow.”
Jollyes will open its 124th store in Derby on Friday 10 July with additional openings also planned in Evesham (14 August), Great Yarmouth (21 August), Sheffield (4 September), Seaham (11 September) and Mansfield (25 September).
Over the past three years, Jollyes has almost doubled the number of stores it operates across the UK, becoming a clear challenger brand for the 62 per cent of UK households that own one of the UK’s 36.5m pets[1].
It was named as one of The Sunday Times’ best big companies to work for in 2024, and in 2025 won the Retail Week Award for Head Office Heroes following its highly successful raw frozen food rollout.
