Just Eat and cardfactory launch exclusive partnership to offer on demand gifting and celebration products

Just Eat has joined forces with cardfactory, the UK’s leading specialist retailer of cards, gifts and celebration essentials, to deliver great value products on demand in a first for both companies.

The exclusive partnership has initially gone live in 19 stores across the UK, including in Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and Wakefield, before extending the trial to an additional 21 stores nationwide later this year.

Consumers will be able to choose from over 200 affordable and high quality cardfactory products on the app, including greeting cards, candles, balloons, gift bags, key rings, confectionery and stationery.

The news follows research conducted by PA Consulting, on behalf of Just Eat Takeaway.com earlier this year, which found that three in four people who have ordered on-demand groceries in the past believe it will become a part of their daily lives.

The study of 4,000 European customers identified eight key moments which drive grocery and retail orders on the app – one of which included gift giving and care packages for loved ones. This new partnership aims to serve that mission and more.

Amy Heather, Just Eat UK Strategic Accounts Director said: “Increasingly, rapid delivery is no longer deemed a luxury but an expectation by busy consumers, and this is demonstrated by the fact 1 million UK customers are now regularly getting groceries from Just Eat.

“As we expand further into the retail space, this exclusive partnership with cardfactory signals our commitment to serving customers whenever, and wherever, they need us. Through our extensive delivery network we’re working to make gifting and celebrating as convenient for consumers as ordering a takeaway.”

Sam Davies, Executive Digital Director at Card Factory plc, said: “Celebrating life’s moments is an important part of the way we live, so we want customers to be able to interact with us in whichever way they choose, whether that’s in store, online, or through one of our partners.

Delivering great value, choice and convenience is key to cardfactory’s growth strategy, and through our partnership with Just Eat, we look forward to bringing our unique proposition to more customers in more places.”

As the nation’s largest food delivery platform, Just Eat reaches 97 per cent of all UK postcodes. Just Eat’s grocery and retail estate in the UK has seen rapid growth in the last year to meet consumers’ growing demand for convenience shopping, increasing the number of retail sites listed on the platform fourfold in just one year.

Partnerships with retailers such as cardfactory support Just Eat’s mission to empower everyday convenience for customers – whether that’s last minute gift giving, healthcare or a late night grocery dash.

cardfactory is the UK’s leading specialist retailer of cards, gifts and celebration essentials, with an estate of over 1,000 stores across the UK & Ireland, as well as an expanding international presence. Building upon its multichannel offer through expanding retail partnerships and extending digital reach are a key part of the company’s growth strategy and vision to become the leading omnichannel retailer in the sector.

cardfactory stores participating in the trial include:

  • Belfast Ann Street NI
