LA Foods and Co-op WholesaleCo-op Wholesale and LA Foods are proud to announce the extension of their contract for a further 5 years, taking their partnership to more than 25 years. With 13 London-based stores currently operating under the Nisa fascia, the convenience chain will continue to benefit from Co-op Wholesale’s competitive pricing, market-leading availability, award-winning Co-op own-brand range, and leading independent retail expertise.

Paul Webster, Partnerships and Sales Director at Co-op Wholesale commented: “We are pleased to share that LA Foods Group has chosen to extend its contract with us for a further five years. We look forward to supporting the growth of additional Nisa-affiliated stores in the future. We have built a great collaborative partnership with LA Foods and its team, and we are confident this will continue to go from strength to strength in the years ahead.”

Tabrez Hussain, Director at LA Foods commented “We’re delighted to extend our contract with Co-op Wholesale and strengthen our longstanding partnership. We’re confident in their strong brand offering and support for our upcoming stores which will further enhance our customer experience and benefit local communities.”

Refurbished store opening

As part of this ongoing partnership, LA Foods celebrated the successful opening of its newly relocated and fully refurbished Nisa store in Queens Crescent, marking a significant investment in the local community and retail experience.

The new store has moved from its previous location across the road into a larger, modern space, enabling LA Foods to significantly enhance its offering. The upgraded store now operates as a comprehensive grocery destination, featuring an improved layout, expanded product ranges, and a stronger customer offer tailored to the needs of the local community.

A standout feature of the store is the prominent produce island positioned at the entrance, showcasing an extensive selection of loose fresh produce. This focal point is designed to inspire customers with convenient meal solutions while encouraging increased basket spend through quality and variety.

Further enhancements include a significantly expanded chilled range, the introduction of electronic shelf edge labels (SELs) to streamline operations and improve pricing accuracy, as well as a food-to-go (FTG) solution packed with award winning Co-op own-brand products and an in-store coffee offer to meet the growing demand for convenience.

Making a difference in the Community

Community engagement remains at the heart of LA Foods’ values. To celebrate the opening, the company donated £3,500 from the funds raised through Co-op Wholesale’s charity partner Making a Difference Locally (MADL) to Eleanor Palmer Primary School and a further £1,000 to Gospel Oak Primary School, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local initiatives and education.

Andrew Rutter, head of key accounts for Co-op Wholesale, commented: “We are delighted to see this Nisa store reopen in its new location with such a strong focus on fresh food, convenience, and community support. The enhanced layout, broader product range, and introduction of Co-op own-brand lines make this store a standout destination for local shoppers.”
