Landsec, owner of one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure portfolios, has signed Korean beauty retailer moida at Trinity Leeds, bringing the first standalone K-beauty brand to the city as demand for Korean beauty continues to grow, particularly among Gen Z.
The signing reflects Landsec’s continued focus on introducing distinctive brands that respond to evolving consumer preferences. As a leading retail and leisure destination, Trinity Leeds has become a launchpad for brands looking to introduce new concepts to the city and connect with its large and diverse student population and younger shoppers.
Health and beauty is one of the strongest-performing categories across Landsec’s retail destinations, accounting for 10% of total retail sales and recording year-on-year growth of 12.8%. Opening in mid-August, the new 1400 sq ft store will debut a sought-after selection of authentic Korean skincare brands, including Dr. Althea, Beauty of Joseon, Tirtir, Medicube and Biodance.
The arrival builds on significant recent leasing momentum at the centre, following 21 leasing transactions in the past year, including Lane7, Footasylum, LEGO and schuh.
Clare Dutton, Portfolio Director at Landsec says: “As Leeds’ leading retail and leisure destination, Trinity Leeds continues to attract brands from around the world looking to bring something new to the city. The arrival of moida is another great example of that, introducing Leeds’ first dedicated K-beauty retailer as consumer demand for Korean beauty continues to grow.
“Leeds has a large population of younger shoppers that’s highly engaged with global beauty brands, making it the natural home for moida’s first standalone store in the city. It’s another example of how Trinity Leeds continues to evolve its retail offer ensuring the destination remains the first choice for brands looking to successfully reach a Gen Z audience.”
