Founded in 1929 in Twickenham, Cavan Bakery has grown from a small family bakery to a group of over 13 bakery shops across Southwest London and Surrey plus a riverside café called Eight on the River located in East Molesey.
As well as being part of a growing wholesale business Cavan Bakery is also centred on a passion for the art of baking and is renowned for its lovingly hand made baked goods which are delicious. All bakes and sandwiches are made by a highly skilled team using premium and natural ingredients, every item, from their original sourdough to their bestselling gingerbread man and deli sandwiches are made from scratch.
Led by CEO Jeff Greenall and managing director Nicky Taylor, it is testimony to the duo’s commitment and ambition for the business that Cavan is currently being featured as a nationwide media case study for Lloyds Bank. Created to shine a spotlight on thriving local businesses with big ambitions and strong leadership, Lloyds has chosen Cavan to inspire other like-minded businesses who, with the right financial support can reach their goals.
Cavan continuously drives to innovate and offer high-quality products without compromise and investing in a skilled and passionate team is central to their success. Led by head baker, Hisham Ezzaouaoui, who has been a part of the business since 2009 and leads a team of 25 bakers who work around the clock to deliver Cavan’s daily fresh promise. This combined with purposeful business leadership led by Jeff and Nicky has enabled Cavan to become a baking powerhouse whilst always ensuring their consumers will Love. Every. Crumb.
One of Cavan Bakery’s first bakes was a poppy-seeded bloomer and to this day the Bloomer remains central to the business. Cavan’s increasingly popular sourdough range extends from their original (and to some the best) loaf, to Rosemary & Sea Salt; Olive; Multiseed; Malted; and their own Cavan Rye. Other favourites include their much-loved gingerbread men which are handmade and hand decorated daily; an unrivalled range of croissants made by their dedicated French trained baking team as well as irresistible chocolate brownies and another customer favourite the jam doughnuts.
An array of fresh sandwiches are available daily at every shop for those wanting to grab a quick lunch to go, and last but not least each Cavan Bakery is equipped to provide customers with their daily brew, offering coffee from local roaster, Coffee Bay. All Cavan Bakery items can be purchased in-store or through “Click and collect’ and are ideal for any occasion, whether that be an on-the-go snack, a stroll in the park, a quiet day at home or even as a gift
Never forgetting their grassroots beginning, Cavan prides itself on keeping community at the forefront of the business and donates their daily food surplus to community kitchens, food banks, homeless shelters, breakfast clubs and similar community led initiatives.
Jeff Greenall, chairman of Cavan Bakery, says: “Cavan Bakery is a family-owned and run business that has been passed down through generations over the last 94 years. We are passionate about baking and well known for our quality-tasting bakery items, fantastic-tasting bakery products. With a love of baking at its heart, more openings on the horizon and a burgeoning wholesale arm, Cavan’s success is on the rise and for good reason.
