Leading UK Korean supermarket, Oseyo, acquires prime South London site

Korean & Asian supermarket Oseyo has signed and completed on its brand-new location with The Arch Company, taking residency at Findlater’s Corner in the heart of London Bridge. This historic and prominent corner is located adjacent to London Bridge Station and Borough Market, with close links to London’s top tourist attractions.

Oseyo brings vibrant flavours of Korea and Asia to the UK, stocking and selling sauces, snacks, produce and authentic ingredients as well as an array of houseware, K-Pop, beauty, and stationery products.

Set to open its doors this June, this will be Oseyo’s 9th London based store and 12th store in the UK overall – other locations include Soho, Waterloo, Guildford, and Manchester. Oseyo aims to make authentic ESEA ingredients and produce more accessible to locals, visitors, and neighbouring businesses.

Spanning 4,000sq ft, the design of the store is expected to allude to the historic foundations of the site, with the Findlater’s Corner being a heritage site of National Rail. The interior will commemorate the railway arch with the contrast of modern timber and the original arch with heritage pendant lighting, and will be fitted out with fresh produce areas, premium soju & sake display, and a cosmetics wall.

Operations co-ordinator of Oseyo, Isaac Kweon, said: “We are excited to announce our new store on Findlater’s Corner, which will bring a more premium experience for shoppers and locals. This is such a unique site for us, with over 100 years of history and we plan to reflect its heritage in the shop fitting”.

CEO of The Arch Company, Craig McWilliam, said: “Findlater’s Corner is an iconic part of London Bridge, and London’s history, and we are pleased to be welcoming leading retailer Oseyo.  Restoring this building to create spaces for businesses to thrive is part of our wider £200m Project 1000 plan, bringing a thousand derelict and empty arches into use by 2030. We wish Oseyo and its customers many happy years here.”

The arrival of the new store adheres to Oseyo’s mission to take on the UK grocery industry by bringing a unique shopping experience with an Asian twist.
