London Marathon runners invited to carb-load at top Soho pasta spot – for free

With tens of thousands set to take on the TCS London Marathon this weekend, a London-based wellness brand is hosting a pasta party at Pastaio Soho – giving runners the chance to carb load for free before the big day.

On Saturday 26 April (Marathon Eve) Puresport is taking over one of London’s top pasta joints from 3.35pm to 5.45pm, during which time it will foot the entire bill for 50 lucky marathon runners, giving them a carb-filled pre-race meal completely free of charge, with no catch.

Adding to the flavour, the experience has been backed by Italian vegan food creator and marathon runner Guiseppe Federici, also known as @sepps. The chef has more than one million followers on social media.

London-based wellness brand Puresport has built a strong reputation in the performance and wellness space for its clean, rigorously tested supplements and hydration products. Used by elite athletes and amateur runners alike, the brand has become known not only for its science-led formulations but for building an inclusive, purpose-driven community around movement and wellbeing, with more than 50,000 people taking part in its popular run clubs.

The company’s CEO Daniel Temm said: “The aim is to make marathon weekend about more than the race, and to celebrate the global running community who are all descending on our incredible city.

“Running a marathon is one of the most inspiring things a person can do. It requires training, discipline, belief, and real mental resilience.

“Events like this show running is universal. In their own way, everyone will be pushing themselves to be the best they can be. We wanted to create a moment where people can come together, relax, and feel looked after.

“Our community means everything to us, and this pasta party is our way of saying thank you, and good luck, to everyone taking part in this incredible event.”

Pastaio is known for serving some of London’s best handmade pasta, making it the ideal pre-race refuel spot for marathon runners who care about what they put in their body.

The pasta night is just one part of a city-wide campaign from Puresport, which includes cheer stations, and giveaways.

Attendees will also get goodies from Puresport’s product range — including its best-selling hydration supplement, Ultra Electrolytes, Magnesium, and Muscle & Joint Balm — which has become a staple for runners.

The brand’s weekly run clubs, held in locations including London Bridge, Hackney, and Clapham, regularly attract hundreds of participants and have welcomed more than 50,000 runners to date.

With only 50 spots available at the pasta party, runners are encouraged to sign up quickly to via Puresport’s Instagram to secure their place. Advance registration is required.
