Matalan adds two senior hires to product leadership team

Matalan, the leading UK and international fashion and homeware retailer, today announces the appointments of Angela Gaskell as director of sourcing, purchasing, quality & fit, and Jonty Wilson as head of quality & technical, further strengthening its product leadership team.

Angela Gaskell joins with extensive experience across retail, sourcing, quality and supply chain. Most recently, Angela served as chief operating officer at Garment Services Group, a global clothing supplier, and she previously held senior roles during an eight-year career at N Brown Group.

In her new role, Angela will lead sourcing, purchasing, quality and fit, bringing these capabilities together to improve consistency and enhance product standards. She brings a strong track record of delivering operational improvements at scale, including through the use of advanced technologies such as 3D fit.

Jonty Wilson joins as head of quality & technical. He brings more than 30 years’ experience across manufacturing, third-party quality assurance and global retail, following his time in senior quality and compliance roles at C&A, ASOS and most recently Primark.

Jonty brings deep expertise in using innovation to drive quality and strong leadership experience, having led Primark’s quality function through major initiatives such as the launch of Click & Collect.

Together, these appointments further strengthen Matalan’s end-to-end product capability, enabling the business to enhance its product offer, drive growth and win market share.
