Wingstop UK expands leadership team with two senior hires

Wingstop UK, the restaurant brand that doesn’t play when it comes to flavour, is fired up to announce two exciting new appointments to its leadership team as the business continues its rapid expansion.

Diego Martinho joins as head of delivery

Martinho takes full ownership of Wingstop UK’s delivery channels, including aggregator partnerships, direct-to-consumer delivery, and click & collect across its restaurant estate. Diego will elevate the customer experience and drive innovation across every digital touchpoint, from exclusive offers and loyalty programmes to optimising fulfilment and conversion rates.

With full P&L responsibility and a sharp focus on performance data, Diego will work closely with marketing, operations, and finance teams to deliver seamless, profitable, and customer-centric solutions.

Martinho joins Wingstop UK from last-mile delivery platform Stuart, where he led account management. He also brings experience from TikTok and TripAdvisor, where he held customer care and operational roles, leading initiatives that enhanced operational efficiency, strengthened team development, and delivered award-winning customer service.

Nathan Smith joins as senior construction manager

Smith will lead the delivery of new restaurant openings, ensuring each location is completed on time and to the highest standard. From navigating building regulations, managing contractors to overseeing site quality, Nathan will be at the heart of Wingstop UK’s physical growth in the communities it serves.

Working closely with property, design, operations, and supply chain teams, Nathan will drive seamless project execution while championing sustainability and innovation in every build. His experience in high-volume rollouts will be instrumental in helping Wingstop UK scale with confidence and consistency.

Smith brings a wealth of experience to the role, having led construction projects at Starbucks and Morrisons, and served as a Senior Design Project Manager at The Parklane Group.

The senior hires come as Wingstop UK plans to open a further 14 sites this year, as well as an extensive pipeline well into 2026. The company was recently listed in the Sunday Times 100 for the third consecutive year, ranking 42nd and crowned the fastest growing restaurant group in the UK.

Faye Ryder-Humphries, people director, Wingstop UK said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Nathan and Diego to the Wingstop UK team. Their talent, experience, and passion for excellence will be game-changing as we continue to grow. It’s exciting to see our leadership team expand with people who share our commitment to bold flavour, outstanding customer experiences, and creating opportunities for our incredible teams.”
