Mattel Brick Shop, in collaboration with Hot Wheels, has revealed an 833-piece 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R building set, marking the premium building brand’s first partnership with Nissan. Mattel Brick Shop will make its first appearance at the 2026 Paris Motor Show with a press conference on October 12 at its booth.

Mattel Brick ShopThe 833-piece set recreates the iconic 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R at 1:16 scale in a classic white racing livery with printed red stripes. Designed with customization in mind, the set includes a custom decal sheet, two sets of wheel covers — including one metal set — and additional parts such as a front splitter, headlight covers and intercooler. It also features functional steering, an opening hood with engine detailing, a metal signature plate and an exclusive matching 1:64 scale Hot Wheels die-cast.

The 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R, known to enthusiasts as the “Hakosuka,” helped establish the GT-R name as a Japanese performance icon. Built with motorsport in mind, its success in Japanese touring car racing, distinctive boxy design and relative rarity have made it one of the most recognizable and sought-after Japanese performance cars among collectors.

The Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R will retail for £49.99 and will be available coming January 2027.
