McCainMcCain Foods, the UK’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, announces that Jillian Moffatt, previously chief technology officer at McCain, will replace Howard Snape as regional president GB & Ireland (GB&I). Moffatt will take up the role from April, moving from Canada to the UK.

Moffatt brings an impressive track record of success over her 14 years at McCain. She joined the business in 2008 as chief financial officer at McCain Foods Canada and subsequently progressed her career through a number of roles within the business. Her most recent role at McCain was chief technology officer, appointed in September 2020, leading the IT, data and digital teams. Moffatt will apply her experience and deep understanding of McCain across finance, operations, and technology, to ensure that the business achieves its mission of being a partner of choice for consumers, customers and growers.

Moffatt, alongside McCain’s GB&I senior leaders, will work closely with farmers across the UK to build on the team’s recent successes, continuing to improve the business’ supply chain’s resilience to meet the needs of our customers and partners. From tackling the impacts of climate change, to achieving the business’ commitment to implementing Regenerative Agriculture practices across 100% of its potato acreage by 2030, McCain is dedicated to ensuring the viability of the future of potato farming in the UK.

Moffatt commented: “It is a privilege to be joining McCain GB&I after my 14 years with the business. McCain has immensely strong roots in the UK, from its relationships with British farmers to its reputation as maker of many families’ favourite food.

“Howard did an incredible job growing the business during his tenure, proof of which is in the strong position McCain is in now despite the immense external headwinds facing all companies.

“I’m looking forward to working with the strong foundations McCain has today to continue driving its mission to make the nation’s favourite food, support families and reduce its impact on the environment.”

Former McCain GB&I President, Howard Snape, has moved to North America following 30 years at McCain, most recently as Regional President of GB&I, a role he was appointed to in 2018.

Under Snape’s leadership, McCain has gone from strength to strength in the region, from delivering consistent revenue growth, to investing in and adapting for the future – such as its £170m investment into the renewal of its Scarborough production facility and the launch of its £25m “Farmers Pledge” to support its 250 British farmers in the face of increasing climatic events – and supporting communities through its partnership with Family Fund.

Snape said: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead McCain GB & Ireland and I couldn’t be prouder of the growth the business has achieved in that time. I look forward to seeing Jillian and the team continue to grow the business, support our farmers and families, and keep up our close relationships with customers and partners.”
