Milkshake-inspired Vodkashake cream liqueur launches

Vodkashake cream liqueur Inspired by indulgent 1950s style American diner milkshakes and tapping into the trend for sweet, creamy soft shots, Continental Wine & Food has launched a new brand, Lacey’s Vodkashake, into the UK grocery and convenience sector.

The cream liqueurs (15% ABV 70cl) are delicious served as chilled shots or added to hard milkshakes or creamy cocktails. The two variants – Banana and
Strawberry – are blended with vodka, natural fruit flavours, a creamy base and are naturally vegan friendly, gluten and allergen free.

It retails at £12 per 70cl bottle and the Strawberry and Banana flavours launched into 500 licensed B&M stores in January 2025.

The brand is already impressing the industry with the Banana variant winning a coveted IWSC Gold Medal 2024 with an impressive 96 points in the RTD Drinks and Pre-Mixed Cocktails category.

Judges noted it was “Indulgent and luscious on both the nose and palate. Boasting a velvety mouthfeel dripping with the delicate sweetness of soft ripe bananas. The harmonious blend of creamy sweetness and lingering fruity undertones leaves you yearning for more.”

Set to redefine the creamy liqueur category and shake up the sector, Lacey’s Vodkashake is bang on-trend as creamy cocktails and shots grow in popularity with British drinkers. The UK on-trade has seen cream liqueurs buck the trend by growing at almost 30% in 2023, driven by the popularity of short serves such as Baby Guinness and Short & Stout, plus cocktails such as White Russians and Espresso Martinis.

Amy Giacobbi, marketing manager at Continental Wine & Food, said: “Creamy cocktails are shrugging off their traditional festive associations and becoming an all-year-round drink of choice, with ice cream cocktails, hard milkshakes and chilled shots now on trend with drinkers looking for sweeter alternatives to traditional serves.

“The two Lacey’s Vodkashake variants have instant shelf-appeal and are a great addition to your chillers for the warmer months, as well as the Christmas sales period.

“Additionally, with 10% of UK adults being lactose intolerant along with consumers choosing a plant-based diet, it’s great to offer a drink that appeals to so many people.”

Created by drinks experts at Yorkshire-based Continental Wine & Food, the drinks are innovative, delicious and offer the consumer something different.
