The Chunky Steak Pie has taken the top spot in Morrisons ‘Pie-mier League’, lifting the trophy as the undisputed champion of the Market Street Pie Shop. After a blockbuster season with more than 2.4 million individual Chunky Steak Pies sold in the past year, it proved unstoppable in attack and sealed its place in the Hall of Flame. It faced strong competition, with the traditional Steak & Kidney pie putting in a solid performance and claiming second place at 1.25 million sales, closely followed by Minced Beef & Onion, which achieved more than 1.15 million sales, proving that the race to the top was well-seasoned, fiercely contested and packed with plenty of last bite drama.

Rounding out the top five are the classic Potato & Meat Pie and the Creamy Chicken Pie, proving that when it comes to Britain’s favourite bakes, classic flavours still dominate the league table. From golden pastry to hearty fillings, the Pie-mier League shows the nation can’t get enough of a proper pie.

Pie fans are in for a treat as Morrisons marks British Pie Week (2-8 March), dishing up a feast of unmissable offers across its entire pie range – from freshly baked hot favourites from its Market Street Pie Shop and popular pork pies from the Deli Counter, to supermarket aisle staples and Café classics.

Celebrating its title win, the Chunky Steak Pie two pack will be reduced by a third, from £3.25 to £2. Customers can also enjoy triple More Card points on all Pie Shop purchases during the promotion.

Famous for its in-store baking, Morrisons sells around 267,000 freshly baked pies every single week across 450 stores, equating to over 1,500 pies sold at Morrisons per hour. Britain’s appetite for golden pastry and hearty fillings shows no sign of slowing down.

For shoppers looking to trade up, Morrisons The Best individual pies are also a third off during British Pie Week on the Deli Counter.

Beyond Market Street, customers can take advantage of a Pie & Sides Meal Deal in the supermarket aisle, which includes two pies and two sides for just £5 – perfect for comforting mid-week dinners.

The celebratory offers also extend to Morrisons cafés, where customers can enjoy a Pie & Mash £5 deal (usually £7) – featuring a British Beef Steak Pie served with mash, garden peas and gravy.

Fred Stevens, pie buyer at Morrisons, said: “Pies remain a firm favourite for our customers, and it’s fantastic to see millions being enjoyed each year. From our bestselling freshly baked Chunky Steak Pie, to pies served hot in our cafés, we’re proud of the quality and freshness of our range. British Pie Week is a great moment to celebrate the nation’s love for pies, and we’re making it even easier with more great offers across a huge range of great quality pies.”

British Pie Week runs from the 2nd to 8th of March, with great savings to be made in-store and online nationwide.
