A new restaurant on Guildford High Street has raised £3250 for the Royal Surrey Charity. Thanks to the support of its customers and the community, Pasta Evangelists Guildford was able to make the donation following a fun and lively “pasta party” at the end of July.
The party saw the fresh pasta restaurant offer £5 dishes all day to diners, with all profits going to the charity – a win-win for customers and the local community! Live music and free drinks for guests also marked the occasion.
Pasta Evangelists Guildford is the brand’s first restaurant situated outside of London, marking the start of its wider expansion across the UK. All money raised from the event for the NHS charity will fund extraordinary care at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre.
Sandra Lowry, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Royal Surrey Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Pasta Evangelists and its customers for organising such a brilliant event and raising an incredible amount of money.
“It’s wonderful to see that a restaurant that only opened recently is already giving back to its community. From providing state-of-the-art equipment, to ensuring the centre is welcoming and comfortable for patients and their loved ones, the money raised will make a big difference to those living with cancer: thank you.”
Lydia Sanderson, Head of Operations for Pasta Evangelists Guildford, said: “When launching the new Guildford restaurant, it was important for us to make a mark and do what we can to help the community in Surrey. Raising over £3000 for the Royal Surrey Charity is even more than we could’ve hoped for.”
