New study reveals the most popular fragrances in the world for 2024

The experts at Idealo have just released their fragrance index, looking at the number of Google searches and social media posts to reveal the hottest perfumes on the market right now.

Ranking as the most popular fragrance of 2024 is Dior Sauvage with a whopping 1.5 million Google searches and 293K combined posts on Instagram and Tiktok for the hashtag #DiorSauvage. The fragrance is well-loved for its spicy blend of bergamot, lemon, lavender, pepper and amber. It is a scent that’s both invigorating and sophisticated, making it versatile enough for any occasion.

Ranking second is Creed Aventus, a fragrance that’s become a modern classic in the men’s cologne world. This luxurious scent boasts an impressive 673,000 Google searches per year, as well as 17,500 posts on TikTok and 129,761 posts on Instagram under the hashtag #CreedAventus. this scent is renowned for its top notes of bergamot and pineapple and its rich base of cedar, birch and oakmoss.

Versace Eros Ranks as the third most popular fragrance in the world with 1 million Google searches and 19,900 TikTok posts and 56,454 Instagram posts. the fragrance offers a fresh blend of mint, lemon and apple, followed by base notes of vanilla, oak moss and cedarwood.

Further findings:

  • Cloud by Ariana Grande is officially the most popular celebrity fragrance with over 135,000 searches for the scent

  • Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent is named the most in-demand fragrance with a 17.6% increase in the past 12 months.
