NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show Europe, held in Paris, 16-18 September, curated an area of the expo for companies who are solving problems in retail and are ready to scale.
Selected by an advisory committee, The Innovators Showcase in Paris followed similar iterations in New York and Singapore. It was supported by the launch of a new Forrester report: NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show Europe, featuring 25 companies from around the world applying the latest breakthrough technologies transforming retail.
Retail Times joined a press study tour of the NRF 2025 Innovators Showcase Europe. Here are some of the highlights:
Netherlands-based New Black presented EVA, a Contextual Commerce Platform tailored for enterprise retail brands ready to advance their store and e-commerce experience.
New Black was showcasing the platform at the show with the Dutch retail customer Rituals.
It’s a total solution incorporating order management & orchestration, inventory management, centralized promotion and loyalty, clientelling, and task management, ensuring compliance in over 40 countries.
Italian company Mira presented its unsupervised vision-based checkout solutions, which eliminate the need for barcode scanning. According to the company, the tech addresses shrinkage where customers swap barcodes on more expensive items with barcodes for cheaper items. There is a self checkout version of the tech plus a model for larger baskets.
Germany’s 7Learnings showed its AI-driven price optimisation tech, which unifies pricing, marketing and inventory decisions to maximise revenue, profit and other key business objectives. The company revealed it had recently raised €10m to fund internal expansion and a push to the US market.
US-based TruRating wins shopper insights at the point of sale, with targeted questions, capturing 80% of customers ‘in the moment’. This helps retailers detect friction, validate initiatives and drive growth across stores. According to the company, it has already heard from 1 billion customers and is now launching in mainland Europe.
UK-based Aura Vision provides enhanced footfall and store analytics using existing cameras in-store with no new sensors required. The plug and play AI creates heat maps to showcase where customers and staff spend time in store and where they do not. The company draws zones around the areas that matter and which retailers wish to define such as the checkout and can link with transaction data. The company captures traffic outside store too so can compare in-store performance/footfall with wider traffic conditions.
