Online retailer SportsShoes.com makes six marketing team appointments to further enable growth strategy

SportsShoes.comSportsShoes.com has announced six new additions across its marketing team to support the online running shoes, running clothing and outdoor gear retailer’s growth strategy.

The new hires are within SportsShoes.com’s brand performance marketing, customer relationship management and events specialisms.

Established in 1982, Bradford-based SportsShoes.com offers customers in the UK, Europe and Scandinavia more than 17,000 products from 150 global running and outdoor brands.

From a running perspective these include Asics, Nike, Adidas, Hoka, New Balance and Brooks whilst in terms of outdoor they include Salomon, Montane, Rab and Patagonia.

In its last financial year, SportsShoes.com grew sales by four percent to achieve a record turnover of £93.3m and a 13.3 per cent year-on-year increase in EBITDA to £6m in the 12 months to 28 February 2025. During the same period, the online running shoes, running clothing and outdoor gear retailer said it acquired 672,465 new customers.

Ben Jenkins joins SportsShoes.com as senior partner brand marketing manager having spent seven years at specialist sports, gaming and entertainment creative agency Ear to the Ground.

He is joined by brand executive Steffi Edwards, who has previously held marketing roles at retail brands including Sweaty Betty and Anthropologie.

Expanding the online performance team is Sian Wells as a senior performance marketing specialist, who joins from parcel delivery comparison website Parcel2Go.

Lauren Hanson and Florence Aldridge, who are both keen runners, have been appointed as performance marketing executive and customer relationship management executive respectively.

Hanson joins the company from marketing roles at online identity platform SmartSearch.com, while Aldridge previously held roles at lighting manufacturer Lights4Fun and online retailer Buy it Direct.

Accomplished runner Mia France is also joining SportsShoes.com as events executive. She specialises in event management and was previously responsible for the marketing of Ilkley Golf Club,

Welcoming the new appointments, Dan Cartner, head of marketing at SportsShoes.com, said: “At SportsShoes.com, our mission is to be Europe’s number one performance destination for running and outdoor retail.

“Expanding our team and securing the best marketing talent is an essential part of achieving our sustained growth strategy.
