Pasta Evangelists has today launched a new Spicy Jalapeño Pesto pasta dish. The artisan pasta brand and restaurant chain will be rising up the Scoville scale just in time for the mini-British heatwave this week, combining the authentic flavours of Italy with Mexico’s most prized chilli pepper.
Inspired by Italy’s love for a hint of heat, the vibrant new dish combines the herby, garlic taste of pesto with a bold kick of Mexican jalapeño peppers. All brought to life with aged Parmigiano, toasted pine nuts and a zesty twist of lemon. Diners can pair the new sauce with an authentic array of pasta shapes from classics such as rigatoni, fusilli and tagliatelle, to creste di gallo (ruffled tubes) or reginette (wavy tagliatelle).
Finn Lagun, co-founder and chief marketing officer, Pasta Evangelists, said: “Chilli is the new salt and pepper; you’d be surprised at how many customers choose to add it as an extra ingredient to their pasta! It’s also no secret that we love pesto as a nation. Our new Spicy Jalapeño Pesto adds a fiery twist to one of our best-selling sauces, so you never have to be torn between your beloved go-to pesto and a “hotter” alternative ever again.”
Free Spicy Marg for dine-in and collection customers:
Starting from £11.50 for a single portion, the new dish is available to order hot and fresh for delivery in 50 towns and cities across the UK, as well as for dine in at Pasta Evangelists’ London restaurants: Richmond, Chiswick, and Greenwich. Diners eating in or collecting from their local Pasta Evangelists restaurant will be treated to a free spicy margarita when ordering the new Spicy Jalapeño Pesto dish courtesy of award-winning margarita brand, Pimentae.*
