For several years, Peter Jones has been captivating customers and passers by with elaborate window installations for Chelsea in Bloom and this year is set to be one of the most intricate and elaborate yet. Expanding on the 2025 theme, Flowers in Fashion, the display is a celebration of fashion and art, past and present and has been created by the talented team of in-house Visual Merchandisers at John Lewis alongside Blacks Visual and Sarah Feather Design.
From the 13th of May, visitors to Peter Jones will be greeted with an undulating stem – built by West Yorkshire carpenters using 15,000 metres of dowel – that will fully bloom into a floral spectacle on Monday 19th. Inspired by an archive print from the John Lewis Heritage Centre, the installation centres around a Japanese Lotus crafted from natural dried flowers, hand-dyed using onion skins, raspberries and red cabbages. The delicate petals, handcrafted in Battersea, are intricately woven and hand-knotted with skeleton raffia using techniques traditionally found in fashion and textiles to create rich and dynamic textures. Surrounding the flower is a garden of live moss, Japanese Acer trees and long grasses to bring the bloom to life.
Exclusive displays
Displayed in the windows amongst the stem will be a one-of-a-kind piece by SS Daley, which has been custom-made for Chelsea in Bloom whilst AllSaints have reimagined their iconic Parachute dress from the early 2000s, available in two exclusive colourways at Peter Jones. Customers can also expect to see pieces displayed in the windows from Mint Velvet, John Lewis x Sanderson along with the limited edition Reiss x New York Botanical Garden capsule collection.
Dominic Joyce, head of branch at Peter Jones, says: “This year’s installation is a celebration of who we are and where we are going. It’s rooted in the legacy of John Lewis and Peter Jones but looks boldly to the
future through collaborations, art and innovation. We’re proud to support projects like Chelsea in Bloom each year, recognising their importance in celebrating fashion and art. We’re also excited to share the immersive floral experience with our customers, along with a number of live events and celebrations happening in-store, including beauty masterclasses from Bobbi Brown and fashion workshops with Max Mara.”
Exciting in-store events and celebrations
In store, Peter Jones will be hosting a number of live events including a Q&A session with Sophie Conran, beauty masterclasses from Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown as well as floral arranging and fashion workshops.
The ground floor of the Peter Jones atrium will be transformed with a pop up floral centerpiece wine bar where Balfour winery will be serving a selection of English wine for customers to enjoy from the 16th – 27th of May.
