Planted, Europe’s fastest growing plant based meat brand, has unveiled the UK’s most sustainable food truck which will begin its tour up and down the UK from 23rd March at Charing Cross Station, serving up some delicious plant-based dishes.
The fully electric Mercedes E-Sprinter Van has four solar panels on the roof which feeds into a powerful lithium battery, which recharges the whole system in order to maximise energy efficiency in a sustainable way.
What’s more, Planted’s plant-based meat portfolio displays huge eco saving potential, with recently published figures that reveal when compared to animal meat, there’s 77-87% less CO2-equivalent emissions generated and 75-90% of water saved.
Additionally, all Planted meats have recently been re-certified with the Eaternity Score and scored the highest across all impact categories: CO2, water scarcity, rainforest and animal welfare – meaning Planted meats are a great fit for a climate-friendly and water-efficient diet.
Olivia Sinclair, UK marketing manager from Planted, commented: “At Planted, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, so creating the UK’s most sustainable food truck to bring our delicious plant-based products to the nation was a no brainer. The plant-based category is still very much unknown for many consumers, hence sampling is a big part of our activity this year, after all, taste is king! ”.
Gary Parker, director at Promohire added, “We really enjoyed bringing Planted’s vision of the most sustainable food truck to life. Complete with solar panels, a powerful lithium battery and fully electric engine makes it the most environmentally friendly vehicle in the UK!”
Planted’s products are all produced in Switzerland, made with no nasties and contain 0% additives using a delicious combination of proteins from peas, sunflowers and oats to create plant-based meats. They include dietary fibres whilst containing all essential amino acids to ensure they are a high-quality source of protein.
