Danish homewares and lifestyle retailer, Søstrene Grene, has announced plans to open its next Central London store at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, with the opening date set to be announced very soon.

Opening this spring, Søstrene Grene at Coals Drop Yard is the brand’s second central London location, following the successful launch of its Tottenham Court Road flagship in December last year. Located at Coal Drops Yard, in the heart of one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, the international retailer will bring a touch of Scandinavian ‘hygge’ to the King’s Cross area.

With over 275+ stores worldwide and an exciting expansion currently underway, Søstrene Grene aims to open 100 stores in the UK by 2030 and reach 500 stores globally by 2027.

The King’s Cross store will offer a curated selection of affordable, Scandi-inspired designs in a wide variety of homewares, soft furnishings, kitchen products, furniture, gifts, crafts and children’s toys including “mini home” products.

Both the products and the immersive shopping experience in each store help to enrich everyday life by inspiring the Danish notion of ‘hygge’ – a special state of contentment, warmth and belonging that comes from seeking comfort and gratitude in present moments. The brands shopping concept, ‘Retail for the Senses,’ promises a unique sensory experience with its iconic wooden crate, labyrinth-style layout, alongside serene lighting and classical background music.

Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene, comments: “We are delighted to announce that we’ll be opening another central London location so soon after our brilliant Tottenham Court Road launch. At Søstrene Grene, our stores are designed to inspire, and we look forward to sharing our wonderful world with even more customers.”

UK Joint Venture Partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who run Søstrene Grene stores across Northern Ireland, Southern England and Scotland, are also looking forward to the new store.

Norma Jacob, comments: “King’s Cross is the perfect location for our second central London store; the area is buzzing with students, professionals and visitors. Coal Drops Yard is a fantastic shopping complex and we can’t wait to join their exciting retail offering.”

Richard Power adds: “We have a number of exciting UK store launches planned for this year as the brand continues to grow. The addition of another London location is an obvious choice, our previous locations in the capital have been extremely successful and we plan to build upon this.”

The opening date of Søstrene Grene, King’s Cross will be announced soon.
