Global matching and hiring platform, Indeed, has released a list of the top companies hiring the fastest in the UK, with pub chain JD Wetherspoon, fast-food chain, McDonald’s, and British supermarkets, Tesco, Morrisons and ASDA Express all featuring in the top 25.

Scottish bus group, McGill’s Midland Bluebird, topped the list as the company hiring new staff the fastest in the UK currently, with a relative hire rate 10x faster than other employers. And as new datahighlights that the social care sector still has a vacancy rate around three times higher than the wider economy, care providers make up 7 of the 25 fastest-hiring companies on the list as they seek to keep pace with demand for staff.

Care providers Health Quality Care and Black Swan Care group are joined by frozen food chain, Farmfoods, in the top 5 on the list released by Indeed to help people get jobs faster. With Indeed data finding that 63% of workers think the hiring process in the UK is inefficient and slow, the full list of businesses hiring faster than average includes:

Indeed shares tips to find a new job quickly and easily:

  1.   Personalise applications: Customise your CV and cover letter for each job based on the role, description and company values.
  2.   Highlight quantifiable achievements: Focus on numbers, data, statistics and outcomes that are measurable and demonstrate your professional achievements.
  3.   Network: Reach out to people in your personal and professional network to convey your availability for work and look for relevant opportunities on social media.
  4.   Follow-up with hiring managers: Jobseekers who politely follow up with recruiters and hiring managers are likely to get noticed again amidst multiple candidates and may even be shortlisted for the next stage.

Donal McLaughlin, senior sales director at Indeed, said: “The combination of a cooling labour market and high wage growth is making the job search daunting for many job applicants, even if they have the required experience and skills. Despite many jobseekers facing lengthy and difficult hiring processes, it’s encouraging to see a range of companies hiring at pace, especially in industries facing staff shortages, like social care. So, whether you want to start a new job quickly or have been out of formal employment for a while, looking for relevant roles that match your skills within these organisations is a good place to start exploring opportunities.”
