Seasalt is delighted to announce that it has achieved its commitment to 20,000 Volunteering hours by the end of 2025 over a month early. Team members across the business have been clocking up their hours with a host of charities and not-for-profit organisations, turning their hands to everything from gardening and animal welfare, to painting, sewing and beach cleaning, to reach this impressive target with six weeks still to go.
Marking this volunteering milestone, last week, the Seasalt Executive Board spent a day volunteering with Cornish charity St Petrocs, the Cornish charity providing essential services to people experiencing homelessness in Seasalt’s home county. The team decorated the counselling room, cooked lunch for St Petrocs’ clients and supported a sewing workshop to mend clothing, all at the Breadline Centre in Penzance, the same town where Seasalt’s own story began in 1981. Seasalt will continue to support the project, including creating a mural and completing the decorating work.
Louise Reid, Associate Director of Engagement at St Petrocs, said ‘Through their support, Seasalt has shared their energy, creativity and kindness, helping people experiencing homelessness in meaningful ways. By decorating our resource centre, preparing nutritious meals and providing essential resources, they have made a positive difference while gaining a real understanding of the daily challenges faced by people without a safe place to call home. Our partnership is invaluable in helping us respond effectively to these challenges and we are grateful for their time and generous contributions. We look forward to continuing to make a lasting impact and working together to end homelessness in Cornwall.’
Paul Hayes, CEO, Seasalt, adds ‘Our time spent at St Petrocs was a fitting tribute to this great milestone for our business and all of the hours that our teams have dedicated to charities and causes close to their hearts. At Seasalt, we’ve always been committed to supporting the communities where we have our stores and offices and our volunteering initiatives are an important part of that community outreach, all around the UK and Ireland. A big thank you to all of our charity partners and organisations for offering us these opportunities and of course our employees for their unfailingly positive attitude. Here’s to many more volunteering days to come.’
