This summer, Danish lifestyle brand Søstrene Grene will open a new store in Winchester, continuing its rapid UK expansion. Known for its Scandinavian design, affordable homewares and sense of calm, the brand is set to bring its signature shopping experience to the historic Hampshire city.
The new store will mark the brand’s second location in Hampshire, following its debut at Basingstoke’s Festival Place last year. As with all its UK stores, Winchester will offer a unique take on the brand’s distinctive retail concept, bringing a carefully curated selection of Scandinavian-inspired homeware, furniture, and lifestyle products to the city centre.
Customers can explore the thoughtfully designed range of homewares, kitchen essentials, small furniture, soft furnishings, craft supplies and seasonal decorations, all inspired by the brand’s minimalist Scandinavian design. Each week brings new arrivals that keep the store’s offering fresh and full of discovery.
Located in the heart of Winchester’s city centre, the store offers a peaceful escape from the busy high street. Warm lighting, classical music and the brand’s signature labyrinth-style layout invite guests to slow down and enjoy a more mindful shopping experience.
Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene, comments: “We’re thrilled to bring Søstrene Grene to Winchester, a city rich in history and character. Our aim is to offer a unique shopping experience that captures the spirit of hygge alongside the warmth and charm of this vibrant community. We look forward to becoming a part of Winchester’s high street and inspiring everyday moments of comfort and joy for local shoppers.”
With over 300 stores in 17 countries, Søstrene Grene’s global presence is expanding rapidly alongside ambitious UK plans to open 100 new stores by 2027.
UK Partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, run Søstrene Grene stores across Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the South of England.
Norma Jacob comments: “Søstrene Grene is about more than just products; it’s about creating moments of calm and creativity in everyday life. Bringing this unique concept to Winchester means giving customers a place to explore, find inspiration, and connect with the simplicity of Scandinavian design.”
Richard Power adds: “Our expansion across the UK reflects the growing demand for accessible, beautifully designed homewares. Opening in Winchester is an important part of bringing our distinctive store experience to new communities while staying true to our Scandinavian roots.”
The official launch date of Søstrene Grene, Winchester, will be announced soon, opening summer 2025.
