Sports bettingAre you a fan of your sports and are looking to learn more about sports betting? You have come to the right place.

Sports betting is great fun, it’s a way to get behind your team and win some money at the same time – it’s even better when you take advantage of the free bets that some bookmakers offer.

There are many different types of bets that you can make, depending on the sports you are interested in. Standard bets would involve predicting the score, betting on the player who is going to score or who’s going to win the match. Then you have the more complicated bets, which vary depending on the sport you are choosing – Football: how many corners and red cards will be shown in the game, Boxing: Which round will be won and the time of stoppage, Tennis: You can bet each game and each set – the possibilities are endless.

Choosing a website

To start with, you want to decide which website you want to sign up for in order to bet. There are a whole plethora of websites that you can choose from, each offering its own unique selling points. To try and narrow it down, look at previous customer reviews, check their legislation and browse through their sign-up offers – many have free bets which you can take advantage of.

Know the bonus offers

We just mentioned it above, research the different bonus offers available to you as a new customer. Different sites offer different bonuses depending on the sports you would like to bet on. The standard offering includes a deposit of ÂŁ10 and receive ÂŁ30 free. When receiving the bonus offer, make sure you read over the T&Cs to ensure you can actually withdraw any money you win from that bet.

Learn the different types of bets

In the world of sports betting, there are many types of bets you can make. Before making any, try to look over the different bets available to make sure they are the right ones for you. Some people like to do accumulators where you bet on multiple teams to win, whilst others like to bet on a single result. Horse racing has many different types of bets you can make including a straight forecast or a reversed forecast.

Our top tips on sports betting

  • Only bet what you are willing to lose. When you lose, don’t go straight back in to try and win your money back. Sports betting is fun, you don’t want to lose what you can’t afford.
  • Check the terms and conditions of any offers you are going to sign up for.
  • When making bets, try to bet on the sports you know best. This way you have a greater chance of winning as you can use your knowledge to decide what to bet on.
  • Do your research beforehand. Make sure you know what the different bets mean and the terms of those bets. For example, in football, if a player shoots and it’s blocked on the line by the defender. This isn’t a shot on target, it’s classed as a blocked shot even though it was on target.
