Stranger Things x KFC immersive pop up happening this week across UK

Stranger Things x KFC immersive pop upStatic crackles. Lights flicker. A new signal is coming through – and this time, it’s finger lickin’ strange.

As a brand partner of the highly anticipated fifth and final season of the Netflix show, Stranger Things, released in the UK on November 27th, KFC is launching a mind bending, one-of-a kind experience: the Hawkins Fried Chicken Hotline.

Set to appear in hidden locations across London, Birmingham, and Manchester, the Hawkins Fried Chicken Hotline brings the eerie charm of 1987 Hawkins, Indiana to life in an immersive fan encounter like no other.

The Hawkins Fried Chicken Hotline serves as fans’ ultimate lifeline for true Original Recipe goodness in a world turned upside down. This free, fully immersive adventure transports fans into the nostalgic, supernatural world of Stranger Things. But be warned – only the most die-hard of fans will uncover its hidden secrets.  And for those hoping to secure a piece of the action and the chicken, you’ll need to be one of the very first to arrive at the location or risk the line going dead for good.

Here’s the deal:

  • Fans who discover the hidden pop-ups will step into a cryptic, retro 80s-style phone box, just like a true Hawkins local. Lifting the phone is the point of no return: the line opens directly to a live, in-the-round theatrical portal, instantly bringing the world of Stranger Things to life. For those brave enough to crack the secret code (or call in help from the Hawkins Fried Chicken crew), exclusive menu items await, with each one stranger than you’d think.

Phoebe Syms, brand manager at KFC UK&I, said:  “With the fifth and final season of Stranger Things dropping, we wanted to go bigger & stranger than ever. Our Hawkins Fried Chicken hotline is more than just a KFC x Stranger Things 5 pop-up – it’s a portal into 1987 Hawkins and a way for fans to contact our Hawkins Fried Chicken gang IRL. It’s an immersive blend of ‘80s nostalgia, the world of Stranger Things and, of course…fried chicken. When that phone rings, it’s time for Stranger Wings…”

But beware. The Hawkins Fried Chicken Hotline won’t stay in one place for long. This highly time-sensitive operation will surface in UK cities for just one day each, giving only the quickest fans access… just in time for the drop of the first four episodes on the 27th November on Netflix only.

London – 26th November
Birmingham – 28th November
Manchester – 30th November

If you can’t make it on those dates, don’t worry – KFC and Stranger Things’ partnership still has plenty more in store. Fans across the UK can get in on the action with the limited-edition Stranger Things menu, featuring the showstopping Stranger Things Burger (£7.99) and Stranger Things Wings (£3.99). Dripping in KFC’s brand-new red, smoky Sweet & Spicy Secret Sauce – it’s a flavour explosion that’s ready to fuel every fan’s final-season binge.

So, tune the frequency. Follow the static. And when you hear the ring – answer it. Because once the line goes dead, it’s gone forever.
