Leading health and beauty retailer Superdrug has today announced that on-demand delivery network Gophr will provide its pharmacy delivery service. The service will allow the delivery of prescriptions across the UK to people who choose Superdrug to provide their medication.  Gophr were selected after a rigorous RFI process.

Gophr’s strong Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), its ability to track and trace all home deliveries digitally from store to door and how it would offer a best-in-class doorstep experience were cited as major factors in Superdrug’s decision.

The doorstep experience must replicate the security protocols that take place in the pharmacy itself and there are layers of protection in delivery to uphold standards ensuring that prescription medicines are given directly to the people they are intended for.

Graham Smith, strategic account director at Gophr, said: “Pharmaceutical delivery is becoming increasingly important, especially as pharmacists are now able to supply even more services under Pharmacy First.

“Vulnerable patients often cannot visit the pharmacy in person to pick up essential medication, while those who are perhaps time-poor, cannot regularly visit the high street. Gophr is perfectly placed to offer Superdrug patients an unrivalled delivery service.

“We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional doorstep experience and highly flexible delivery, which builds those vital relationships with our clients’ patients. This is so important when it comes to medical drop-offs where people are reliant on their local pharmacy. It is even more vital when offering cover service, ensuring that customers always get the best service possible.

“Our online tracking and transparent system, along with robust SOPs, will ensure compliance levels are high at all times – key for a successful pharmacy partnership.”

Ghada Beal Superdrug’s healthcare director, added: “Patients want a fast, easy and convenient way to manage and order their medication and have it delivered to them safely and efficiently. Gophr’s extensive network of professional couriers and real time tracking information enables us to support patients within local communities, delivering a best-in-class service to them.”
