Wickes partners with Gophr as same-day delivery goes nationwide

Wickes Wickes, one of the UK’s largest home improvement retailers, has partnered with last-mile delivery specialist Gophr to launch ‘Wickes Rapid’ across 150 stores nationwide. This same-day delivery service brings DIY essentials and trade materials directly to homes and job sites in as little as 2-3 hours.

The new relationship leverages Gophr’s specialist expertise in the sector and sits under ‘Gophr Trade’ – its dedicated delivery service for the construction and DIY industries, as well as larger trade and construction businesses. The launch of ‘Wickes Rapid’ is a response to the ever-changing needs of tradespeople, who are increasingly recognising that same-day, express delivery can save them both time on site and money on fuel.

Customers will have access to Wickes’ full store, with same-day delivery options ranging from motorbikes (smaller items such as tools) to large vans (big ticket orders including timber and flooring).

Operating on a rapid store-to-door model, Gophr provides 2-3 hour delivery slots with live GPS tracking, proof of delivery and real-time notifications. Orders can be placed seven days a week during store opening hours, making it easy for customers to plan deliveries around their schedules.

The delivery experience is also powered by Metapack, which connects Wickes’ online checkout with Gophr’s courier network. Acting as the delivery management system, Metapack automatically allocates orders and provides full visibility for both customers and store teams.

Steven Blair, chief operating officer at Wickes, said: “We know our customers want to get what they need, when they need it, without losing time on the job or at home. With our new partnership with Gophr, they can now have everything from tools to timber delivered straight from their local store to their doorstep in just a few hours.

“We’re proud to give our customers more speed and convenience with Wickes Rapid. It’s a simple way to help tradespeople and DIYers get the job done.”

Graham Smith, srategic account director at Gophr, said: “The growing demand for our ‘Trades’ service is indicative of its quality and the value it can add for our partners and their customers.

“Same-day delivery isn’t just for small items. With Wickes, we’re bringing larger items like doors, timber, and flooring straight to doorsteps and job sites across the country in just a few hours.

“Our couriers and platform are built for fast, larger item delivery at scale, helping Wickes keep pace with the demands of modern construction.”
