Today, leading accessible health and beauty retailer, Superdrug, is proud to announce the return of its fundraising campaign for mental health charity Mind, with a target of raising £150,000 through customer donations this autumn.
Running from 7 October to 3 November 2026, the campaign will give customers the opportunity to donate to Mind through Pennies at Superdrug tills. By making giving part of an everyday shop, customers can help fund Mind’s work supporting people experiencing mental health problems.
Now in its second year, the campaign supports Mind, the charity chosen by Superdrug colleagues following a vote across the business. This year’s initiative aims to raise £150,000 to help Mind provide vital support for people experiencing mental health problems.
The campaign coincides with World Mental Health Day on 10 October and supports Mind’s ‘See Me Now’ campaign, which calls for everyone to be seen and taken seriously on the day they ask for mental health support. With one in four of us experiencing a mental health problem each year, and 1.6 million people on mental health waiting lists in England, access to timely support is critical.
Mind’s message this World Mental Health Day is that support today saves lives tomorrow. The right help can stop people reaching crisis point, but too many people face delays or struggle to access support that meets their needs.
Funds raised will help support Mind’s services, including its helplines and online peer support community, Side by Side, alongside its campaigning work and network of local Minds. Together, these help people access trusted information and support, while campaigning for better mental health services.
Superdrug trading director, Megan Potter said: “We’re proud to bring our Pennies fundraising campaign for Mind back for a second year. Mind was chosen by our colleagues, and we know how much its work means to people across our business and the communities we serve.
“Our customers helped raise around £300,000 across last year’s two events, showing the difference small donations can make when we give together. This World Mental Health Day, we’re inviting customers to help us build on that support, with the aim of raising a further £150,000 so Mind can be there for more people when they need help.”
Emma Ackerman, executive director of Income Generation at Mind, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Superdrug for their continued support, and for their pledge to raise awareness and funds for Mind during World Mental Health Day.
“Every day at Mind we fight for everyone experiencing poor mental health to feel seen and understood. A huge part of this is making sure people can get the right support when they first need it – not two years down the line. We also know the people delivering care and support want this change too.
“That’s why Superdrug’s support is so important. By raising money to support our services, campaigns and local Minds, we can reach even more people and work towards transforming the future of mental health support towards a same day access model so everyone can get the help they need, on the day they first ask for support.”
Customers can support the campaign by choosing to donate through Pennies when shopping in Superdrug stores from 7 October to 3 November. To find out more about World Mental Health Day, including where to get support, visit mind.org.uk/WMHD26.
